On March 30, 2020, at 12:32 p.m. Springfield Police Officers were dispatched to a disturbance involving a male suspect in a blue Ford Taurus pointing a gun at a female in the 400 block of W. Atlantic. Several SPD officers, along with officers from Springfield Public Schools Police, arrived and stopped the vehicle near 1924 N. Lyon.
The driver, later identified as convicted felon Gregory Robinson, was ordered out of the vehicle, and although he placed his hands outside the window, he refused to comply with officers’ commands to exit the vehicle. Believing that the subject was armed, officers opened the door of the vehicle to remove him from the car. He resisted their efforts and a Taser was deployed. Robinson continued to resist as officers took him to the ground and attempted to place him in handcuffs. His arms were underneath him and he repeatedly reached towards his waistband.
Officers were finally able to subdue Robinson, using physical force, and while doing so removed two handguns (one of which was loaded) from his waistband. Robinson was also in possession of a large amount of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
He was arrested and seven charges were filed by the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office including three counts of Felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Felony Resisting Arrest, Felony Trafficking Drugs and two counts of Felony Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Robinson is currently being held in the Greene County Jail on $100,000 bond.
During the arrest and throughout the booking process Robinson made general threats about killing police officers and made specific death threats against the officers on scene.
In the midst of everything we are going through as a community, the Springfield Police Department is committed to the health and safety of our citizens. When a known violent and armed suspect is encountered, yet refuses to comply with officer commands, it is imperative officers take every precaution to ensure their safety and the safety of our community while taking such a person into custody.
As is normally the case, any use of force by a Springfield Police Officer is reported, reviewed by the chain of command and investigated internally to make sure of compliance with SPD’s Standard Operating Guidelines.

  1. No doubt where that face butt post came from, from a mother who spent her lifetime blaming others for her faults and milking every dime she can from hardworking tax payers. This mentality of victim-hood trickled into what little brains her son Gregory had, the two thrive off each other. Their own community are finding it harder and harder to defend their stupidity and false portrayal of victimization. This mother will NEVER accept any responsibility for her and her son's actions, her programing is far too deep. Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson spent years programing their plantation sheep all the while raking in millions of dollars off of them.

  2. Some excellent CYA right there by placing all the guns and dope on the hood of the car in view of the dashcam for the world to see.👍🏼
Without video this would have been another promising young black man brutalized by racist police.

  3. Police – "we have reports of you (inset offense here)
Dude – "leave me alone, I'm not doing anything wrong right now"
    [Dude resists causing escalation]
Background lady – "oh gawd, oh lordy! Why (unintelligible)
    Activists – BLM!
CNN – Breaking – firey but mostly peaceful protest over mistreatment of Harvard med student

  4. All these 'victims' are coached by their churches, lawyers and communist activists to act out for the cameras to guilt white jurors. IT WORKS! You know what they call you?………………CHUMPS!

  5. The narrative on this video is a LIE! anyone actually watching this video will note that at the point the police dragged Robinson out of the vehicle he was limp and obviously not functioning. This is because he was immediately tasered, this is why his hands were beneath him. Further the officers can be seen striking him repeatedly, and it is notable that NOTHING in the audio of this video supports ANY police ordering him out of the vehicle prior to dragging him out. Even further, since Robinson was doing NOTHING unlawful that anyone could discern or articulate, and since even the video narrative confirms that police did not know who he was at the time of the stop, there was no probable cause for any of this. There are so many violations of civil rights here that they are to numerous to list. Just watch the video and ignore the narrative, and you will clearly see it.

  6. This some bullshit! You know damn well he found all that shit on his way home from church, and they was on the way to turn it all in to the police. And you know he wasn't even expecting a reward because that's just the kind of honest citizen he is. Solid ass citizen getting abused and framed by the man!

  7. 2 weapons and huge bag of cocaine, and the lady still blaming the cops. Drop the act lady, law suit will not work on this one. Maybe you'll get lucky when your other sons get arrested and you can make money off of that situation.
