A deadly traffic stop is under investigation and the New York trooper involved is now facing criminal charges. In February 2022, trooper Anthony Nigro pulled over James Huber for speeding over 100 miles-per-hour. Huber refused to get out of his car then reached for his glove compartment. Allegedly fearing for his life, Nigro shot him. Law&Crime Network’s Sierra Gillespie explains what happened next that put the former “trooper of the year” on the other side of the law.

  1. The prosecution's decision to charge the individual with manslaughter in a case where there was evidence of intent to kill raises significant legal questions. Manslaughter, by definition, typically involves the unlawful killing of another human being without malice aforethought, often characterized by a lack of intent to cause death. In this instance, where the accused intentionally pointed a firearm and subsequently caused the victim's death, a charge of murder, which requires the element of malice intent, may appear more appropriate.

  2. How about you not cut out the only part of the video everyone came to see? You know, the relevant part. 😑

  3. And this is why we get so defensive towards law enforcement every department in the United States so go through ethics training every three months or something

  4. So you shoot an unarmed man whose only crime was refusing to exit his vehicle. The judge released without bail, and the judge found him no guilty. This must be upstate ny.

  5. What amazes me is all the people in the comments supporting summary capital punishment not supported by the law nor the Constitution. Refusing to exit your vehicle is not legally a death sentence. The "he had it coming to him" argument is just wrong.

  6. So this "Trooper of the Year" shot an unarmed man. Forget about charging him. All these cops, lawyers and judges stick together. They are part of the "blue club" and they protect each other.

  7. I don’t see a crime. The guy been involved in a high-speed chase. The guy refused to obey orders he reach for something. And I don’t back the blue line. But there’s no crime here.
