15. I'm experiencing what they called tiger parenting and I'm asian. You must do what exactly what they want from food to everything basically. But I will never do this. 😂 I don't give a damn anymore if they shout, curse, discourage the hell out of me.

And for her to not see that and come around to kill them? That's selfish and evil at its best. I don't know what degree of tiger parenting the parents are but she was raised comfortably and she can always walk. Don't sympathize with her. There's millions of kids under tiger parenting and they got through it.

Of course, what's left unsaid in stories like this is that they happen more often than people think; it's just that the pressured kid usually ends up killing themselves rather than their parents, and said parents are left to boo-hoo about "OMG HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN????!!!!" (as if the idea that treating your children like they're your property and grooming them to be pathologically afraid of failure will end up damaging them is completely farfetched.

26. I actually read Grimaldi's book on this murder-case. Oh how aspects of tiger-parenting is so reminiscent of my own childhood lol. Jennifer Pan's parents also didn't like Daniel because he was half Filipino, and wasn't of their background.

34. When I was stationed in South Korea, I saw their kids in school uniforms every single day. They literally went to school daily.

36. Tiger what? The two parents are typical ASEAN. ASEAN Children are encouraged and expected to excel in their classes. They too are forbidden to have BOY/GIRLfriends so they can focus on their studies. Some children however, manage to have love life in spite, so parents revise the tack by telling the children not to take the relationship seriously or give education priority still. Definitely NO SEX until university graduation. I heard that this case is just one of 2500 more or less parent murders every year in the US. Whereas in ASEAN countries where "tiger" parents are, parricide is almost unheard of. In fact, it is only in the US that school children bring guns to their schools to murder their teachers and classmates. So, I guess this case is also just another US exclusive brand. Only in America.
