While I think that she is a narcissist and a liar, I also believe that Jason was (at the very least) verbally abusive and not the amazing husband everyone seems to think he was. However, I don't believe that things were so bad between them that she needed to kill him in self-defence. They were getting a divorce already.

Although she is guilty, I don't see her as a danger to society at all. There is no rehabilitation factor in a 40 year sentence, just punishment. She's basically going to die in prison, very little chance of getting out.
Still, a 40 year sentence is a bit extreme… looking at other crimes and comparing them, she should have gotten maybe 15-20…I don't believe for a second that she was abused in any way. Being a stay at home wife, with a house in that magnitude of mess and a shopping addiction (pics show all the bags, and that's why her husband was upset and yelling at her), plus no physical brutality of any kind… Also looking at the husband's personality, connection with kids & oth people in the community… Not a chance she was abused.
