I feel extremely lucky to have 50/50 custody and it cost me $5k to get that. Sad part is, my childs mother walked out on myself and our son for a full year and the second I filed for child support and she got served m, she decided to be in our childs life and threatened me with taking him away from me since we weren't married and there was nothing I could do. She was right so I gave in and let her takenour child herr and there but the second we went to court, she told them that she wants 50/50 custody and she only did it to avoid paying child support.
To make it worse. She waited until our child was 3 hours old and I was holding him in my arms inside the hospital to tell me "CPS might come and talk to us". That's when she decided to tell me that she had another child that was 5 years older than ours and he was born addicted to heroin and spent a month in the NICU in order to withdrawal from dope. Apparently her mother had custody of her other kid (I never met either) and the judge said (That was in her past and it has no bearing on your custody case).
Fast forward to today and I have my son 80% of the time because his mother had to work late or something came up.
I don't feel sorry for one bit
And these are the types of people that the anti-abortion folks are forcing to follow through with their pregnancies. People want to complain about our tax dollars getting wasted on abortions, but this lady and her child are going to be costing taxpayer for as long as they're both on the planet. What a cruel life to force a child to live.
