Why are we providing criminals with free medical care for self-induced injuries, when my grandmother has to pay premiums to Medicare to get minimal coverage? None of us can walk into a doctor's office or a hospital without money or insurance without being instantly rejected, yet if I rob a bank and get hurt doing so, I get free medical treatment at the hospital. Add insult to injury, taxpayers foot the bill. The same taxpayers that could never get free medical care without committing a crime. This isn't just bad optics, this is nuts.
