Why in the world would the cop think it was a good idea to tell him what the wife said about him hiding her?? Was this her first day OJT or what?
I live near this area and when this happened, it was all over the news. So many vital resources were used to locate her. Those resources could have been saved if the PO would have been unbiased and had better investigation skills. She should have asked for help from another PO. I also think the PO had a slight cultural bias that led her to be jaded by the situation. There was no sense of urgency. She didn’t even get info on this child was last wearing! I hope this PD is embarrassed.

I couldn't make it to the end, this was hard to watch the way it was handled was frustrating
no one seems to be worried. The police are more worried about their man power rather than taking this report seriously, especially since she is a juvenile.
This is terrible all the way around. This officer does not seem like she is doing. The "father" does not seem worried at all and to not inform mom because they are divorcing. Get over yourself dude, mom has the right to know everything about her child.

My teen went missing on her bike when she was 14 and I can tell you right now this dad's reaction is NOT IT. We were frantic. My Fitbit clocked 700 zone minutes that day. I still wake up grateful that she came home that night
This cop is one that ends up getting someone killed… Ur telling him exactly what the ex-wife has stated. This lady probably can't find her car keys let alone find a missing child! Everytime someone asks her something she says well umm to think of the answer she's going to give. Doing one of these reports is serious….. A child is missing this is serious

I remember this case very well. The local Los Angeles news got a hold of the story. It was put out she was missing. Everyone thought the mom was at fault. But she was right. I felt sorry for the girl, she wanted to be with her dad . She said her mom was mean.

Holy crap! The moment the Mom said he lost custody the day before the cop's whole demeanor should have changed. She should have explained to him it's a crime and he could go to prison for custodial interference. It was painfully obvious he was lying the entire time.

A couple of people made the comment that the mom is not hysterical. I guess they want her to be not doing enough and that they would be going crazy if it was their daughter and she was supposedly missing. The mom has been trying to get the daughter back. She’s gone there with cops, he refused to open the door. She went there that day, that morning actually. With the police, he wouldn’t open the door. It’s obvious that he’s hiding her. The cop is just not listening. She’s going out looking in her car for the girl trying to contact friends, trying to do everything she can.
