Man Gets Punched in the Face Repeatedly During a “Welfare Check”

In Clarksburg, West Virginia, a woman called police for a welfare check after seeing a man in apparent distress on the sidewalk. Shortly afterwards numerous police officers surrounded the man, and decided to detain him. When the man didn’t want to be handcuffed, officers “assisted him to the ground.” Then Officer Elijah Helsley of the Clarksburg Police Department repeatedly punched the man in the face, among other things. The woman who had previously called police was shocked at what she was witnessing, and began filming with her phone. She shared the video on Facebook, after which it ended up on the local news, as well as the subject of a song.

  1. Cops are pushing Americans to their breaking point. Like John said, this is happening everyday across the country. It's not a "few bad apples" like they gaslight Americans to believe. It's an epidemic of criminality within law enforcement and prosecutors and judges are condoning and protecting their behavior. Sean Paul Reus from LIA is a perfect example of the corruption that has permeated our state and local governments across the country as well. It's pretty frickin sickening.

  2. I take no Joe in saying this… but when it was George Floyd white folks aint care and all we were saying is it will come to a point where it’s not just blacks folks it’ll be everyone of any race.. because it was never about race.. it’s about control. Now we are here

  3. Police need FAR better techniques when 5 can't subdue one without this bevel of violence and endangering his life. I saw an officer talk about an Asian technique where one officer works above the waist and one below and he said it works like a charm and respects the individual. Why are we still teaching this which just looks like a desperate bar brawl??

  4. "for the safety of others around" even though it seems only 1 person was there. "assisted to the ground." "he tripped and his face kept falling into his fist" I mean just stop. 😅

  5. You should look into the case of Matt Edwards. He was arrested by Troy, NY police for beeping at them to let them know the light turned green at an intersection. A lawsuit is in the works.

  6. Love how all of your videos are anti-police. You seem to cover like 3 to 4 times a month when a cop does something wrong. Don't show the hundred times a month videos that show the cops getting shot, deranged lunatics, and the bat-shit crazy these guys have to deal with on a daily basis. You've definitely got an agenda rolling here… hmmm.. wonder why? If only it was in your description… oh wait! It is..

  7. 3:25 they don't even say it like they mean it. What a bad joke.

It's like that guy at the store trying to help Karen pick out wallpaper, and after 2 hours, he's holding up the 32nd set for the 4th time:
    "plaid or polka dot?"

Like the lunch lady at the end of the day:
    "Greens or beans?"

    Like the girl at Walmart:
    "Paper or plastic? "

  8. I wonder if any of these policemen were trained over in Israel by the IDF, which has been going on for 2 decades, if not longer, i first heard of it around 2005 or so. De-militarize the police! We went overseas to stop terrorism and it sprang up on our native soul in our own people.

  9. Please help this kid John
I know him and he’s a hardworking kid
He didn’t deserve that typa beatdown and he and his wife need a civil rights lawyer

  10. I don’t see the cops doing anything good anymore. They are perpetual money machine that charge hard-working people for no reason and escalates situations where they have an advantage. There needs to be a third-party system in place to prevent their corruption. It’s disgusting.

  11. A white man is now being beat down by cops hopefully they'll start believing what black people have been talking about for years, most cops are tyrannical 😢😢😢😢

  12. The guy was not a suspect, he was not a criminal he was not under arrest. The news lied to the public to protect these animals from accountability. It is disgusting.

  13. POLICE STATS

Number of cops in the US = 750,000

Number of Americans injured by cops per year = 250,000

Number of Americans hospitalized by cops per year = 75,000

Number of Americans killed by cops per year = 1,200

Think about how insane these numbers are. This means that 1 out of 4 cops will hurt someone every year. Or 1 out of 10 cops will put someone in the hospital every year. Now, guess how many cops are shot and killed per year. Is it 5,000? 10,000? Nope, it's 40! It's not even more than one death per state. To put it in perspective, about 1,000 landscapers die every year. Or the same number of garbage collectors. Everyone thinks police work is so dangerous but it doesn't even rank in the top 30. Contrary to popular opinion, police work is only slightly more dangerous than the national average.

Given the negligble number of cops killed, it's pretty safe to assume that the majority of the Americans hurt by cops are innocent. If they weren't, the interactions between cops and civilians would lead to more police deaths but they don't. Nearly all of the time, the civilian is the person who's hurt.

Every time you interact with a police officer, the chances of your getting killed by the cop skyrocket. It's 20x more likely that the cops will kill you than the other way around. This is insane. How can it be more likely that a person gets killed whenever they approach a cop? Shouldn't you be safer, not more dangerous?

The reality is cops are paranoid, trigger-happy, and violent people. We need to put pressure on politicians to change the laws and start putting cops in prison.

  14. How these are the actions of the police today is absolutely insane and why does the highest office in the executive branch do nothing to stop this? If anything seems to protect them is weird.

  15. They were so wrapped up in attacking that man that they missed to most egregious crime happening in front of them. That crime was someone filming from a public place. We all know that is the number one crime in America.

  16. Somewhere in the history of law enforcement, someone coined the phrase "assist to the ground" and cops are generally such arrogant assholes that they seem to think it is an entirely acceptable phrase.
