Coast Guard officer, Shane Sprague, bought a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X on June 21 from Doral Volkswagen in South Florida. For many years, Shane had wanted this specific truck: a GMC 1500 AT4X. He worked hard, and made sacrifices, to be able to save money for the down payment. He put down a $15,000 deposit, traded in a 2012 Ford Focus for $1,500, and financed the rest of the $61,230 purchase price through the dealer. A dealership employee even snapped a photo of Shane looking happy with his purchase, and later texted him, thanking him for the sale and wishing him well. But, 10 days later, on July 1, an unmarked F-150 rammed his rear bumper, and he was arrested at gunpoint by Broward County deputies…

The whole scene between the Investigating Detectives and the Dealership screams of a set-up! Especially the excuse of you received the wrong vehicle and we can remedy this really quick, and I have some good advice then immediately exit while speaking all this aloud, while also talking to the dealership! Only to flip it too sue the Dealership after confronted on the Facts of the Purchase, mainly it was the Truck, he really wanted and left the lot in. What happened to his evidence of Wrong vehicle or even a Clerical error in his paperwork? Thinking on what the Intent of the Investigators and any results benefitting the Dealership in these facts, leaves only a bait and switch Tact in such heightened and intense situation one could concede defeat and submit under color of law! This would be understood by all involved, evidence in no one having any knowledge of what was occurring in this Apparent Felony Stop!
I would like to tell the one detective, hold still, quit playing with your pen, stop hitting the table and just talk or write notes. Do you hold still in church during mass?

I had this happen with my first car but the officers did their due diligence on the side of the hwy and verified with the car dealership that I legally purchased the car! I was let go without an issue.

That county seems to be really good at NOT investigating anything, treating everyone as "guilty until proven innocent", and has a complete lack of common sense across it's ranks from top to bottom. I think it's time the feds come do some house cleaning and replaced the majority of these moronic deputies and "detectives" with some people that can actually think for themselves instead of just blindly following orders without any thoughts of their own.
