Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Force Investigation Division is investigating an Officer-Involved-Shooting (OIS) that occurred Monday evening, in Southwest Division.

On June 1, 2020, around 9:24 p.m., two male suspects (who were later identified as 20-year-old Daizon Blue and 18-year-old Mosiq Jones) along with a third individual named Damion Henninger, were at a gas station located at the 2200 block of South Vermont Avenue. The males were standing next to a silver Hyundai that was parked at a gas pump.

During that time, Southwest Division plain clothes Narcotics Enforcement Detail (NED) officers were in the area driving an unmarked sedan conducting crime suppression due to recent protests and looting. As the officers drove through the gas station lot, they observed one of the suspects point a firearm at their vehicle. The officers drove out of the gas station and immediately broadcasted a request for back-up. Moments later, additional Southwest NED officers, who were driving an unmarked van, drove into the gas station lot and were immediately fired upon by Jones and Blue. Both suspects fired multiple rounds, striking the officers van as it came to a stop, at which time an Officer-Involved-Shooting occurred. Jones and Blue then dropped their weapons, surrendered, and were taken into custody.

Neither Jones nor Blue were struck by gunfire. Henninger was struck by gunfire and was also taken into custody. The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported Henninger to a local hospital, where he was treated for his injuries that were determined not to be life-threatening. Henninger was not arrested and was released. Jones and Blue were subsequently arrested and booked for attempt murder.

One NED officer sustained a minor graze wound during the incident. He was treated at a local hospital and later released.

Two loaded handguns were located at scene and recovered as evidence.

LAPD’s specialized Force Investigation Division (FID) responded to the scene and began interviewing witnesses and collecting forensic evidence. A representative from the Office of the Inspector General responded and monitored the scene investigation.

The complete investigation will be reviewed by the Chief of Police and the Board of Police Commissioners and the Office of the Inspector General to determine the thoroughness and accuracy of the investigation and whether the use of deadly force complied with LAPD’s policies and procedures. Additionally, representatives from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office who responded to the scene will review the subsequent FID investigation; evidence collected and witness statements to determine if the force used by the officers(s) was reasonable.

  2. They should have waited for a marked police car to arrive, they should have never approached the suspects in an unmarked vehicle in unmarked clothing. And the way they approach The gas Station at a high rate of speed and in a black Astro van a gray I mean"that would make anybody think that they were under assault by strangers. This was a terrible decision made by the plainclothes officers or that narcotic detail. I haven't got to the end of the video I hope none of the suspects were killed. This whole situation kind of reminds me of the no-knock warrant with Brianna Taylor, this could have all been avoided if the plainclothes officers would have waited for a marked police vehicle to arrive so that their presence would have been known to the suspects. They jumped the gun and this was egregious use of force.

  3. 2:30.. cop almost shot the other cop. And i dont think these dumbasses knew they were cops. They see a slow driving car and start pointing guns… makes u useless in OUR fight. Too dumb to help the cause.

  4. Those guys didnt think that first car was the police. He was stupid for showing that gun so quick. I bet he was thinking it was someone trying to shoot them. City is a battle ground. Not sticking up for these two but thats how it usually is.

  5. Is anybody else surprised these thugs are pumping at Chevron, they have some of the highest prices in LA shouldn’t they be at an Arco 🤷🏻‍♂️

  6. A family is at the dinner table. The son asks the father, “Dad, how many kinds of boobs are there?” The father, surprised, answers, “Well, son, a woman goes through three phases. In her 20s, a woman’s breasts are like melons, round and firm. In her 30s and 40s, they are like pears, still nice, hanging a bit. After 50, they are like onions.” “Onions?” the son asks. “Yes. You see them and they make you cry.” This infuriated his wife and daughter. The daughter asks, “Mom, how many different kinds of willies are there?” The mother smiles and says, “Well, dear, a man goes through three phases also. In his 20s, his willy is like an oak tree, mighty and hard. In his 30s and 40s, it’s like a birch, flexible but reliable. After his 50s, it’s like a Christmas tree.” “A Christmas tree?” the daughter asks. “Yes, dead from the root up and the balls are just for decoration.”

  7. So the police shoot the only one of the three that was unarmed and not shooting at them? And he was not arrested? If they didn't do anything to deserve being arrested, then they definitely didn't deserve to be shot multiple times by the police.

  8. Damn I don't know what they was thinking or what they thought but that was stupid if I was those cops I would have been beaten they ass myself sorry to say but they just start shooting at the police they probably thought it was some other gang members in a van but found out it was a surprise it's the police🤣

  9. Lol. The one guy was paranoid as hell the entire time. I thought that was pretty funny until the other guy ran away and then came back to where a gun fight was happening. LMAO. They must have already been on edge, likely from having just commited a crime elsewhere.
