This woman still doesn't get it. A person who is s psychopath, a serial killer or predator is not thinking like everyone else. They have no feeling or emotion. They know that civilized society sees it as illegal, wrong, or morally wrong, BUT in their mind it is NOT wrong. They have no feeling towards it at all. It is just a hunger to kill. A craving the rest of us don't understand.
Tundra in Africa?! 😂
as Anna summarized it, bunch of bunk 😆He doesn’t even know what he’s talking about in the process of trying to romanticize those idiots that take other peoples lives for very low reasons.
Just crazy how every female is a target 😡ðŸ˜â€
34:33 yeah then you ticket us. That’s what I’m deathly afraid of.
Very interesting and important points, thank you two so much!!
Just wanted to correct the guy about the Central Park 5 that he spoke off They were exonerated! Period!!
I have always kept distance from the car in front of me at a stop sign/light. Learned it in driver's education and it never left my mind 50 years later. Always use my blinkers. Wish everyone would because I am not a mind reader. Have no idea where you are going.
I can’t stand listening to Mike, he talks too much about himself!!
I remember so vividly the time when I noticed this random guy lurking and looking at my toddler son sitting in his stroller at a department store and I just got this weird feeling about it. I just knew I needed to get out of the store immediately. Like you said,Ana, it could’ve been nothing but I wasn’t about to take a chance with the most precious part of my lifeâ¤
Mike is my very favorite guest hostâ¤â¤â¤
Chimpanzees have been observed to derive pleasure from unnecessary sport killing.
Cops tend to like blaming schizophrenics because they act like they’re on drugs. But autistics have serious problems understanding what people mean when they communicate. They can become very frustrated.
This is so not true. It’s a myth. People do not like doing the same thing all the time. In fact autistics desire this. They also love numbers. there are laws protecting workers from repetitive movements.
The one thing is that they isolate themselves a lot…they like to be right.
There's a really good book called The Gift of Fear that is about this very issue: How we are wired a certain way for a reason.
I've always listened to my gut. I wish more people felt that they could. It will save your life.
The psychology of these predators is fascinating.
Tysm for this. I learned so much. Anna & Mike!
Two of my favourite people who’s hearts shine so very bright.
Ana, your description of Mike was so spot on, it just truly described Mike to a T. There is such an inherent softness and kindness that radiates from his face, and I just feel grateful that he cares so much about justice. His advice is very practical and reinforces how important it is to listen to our intuition.
Of course we know Ana, you have such tremendous insight into human nature and being aware of your surroundings.
The other thing that makes both of you so very special is your love for animals. Dogs shine bright in both your lives.
I think it was one of the reasons you had such a tough time when Mike was describing how a serial killer employs similar techniques and motivation as a lioness might in stalking her prey. Of course, we know that animals do not harbour evil the way people do so I understand why Ana felt that a serial killer could not compare themselves that way.
I could see both sides clearly, and I really respected the discussion that followed. Mike was so sweet when he was giving reasons for his analogy and Ana was so feisty in her not buying it.
You two are such a blessing not only to everyone who watches your shows and listens to your podcasts but to every victim, you have given a voice to was such obvious compassion.
Thank you for a wonderful show and the best of luck with your book Mike. I just wish you had a single brother.😙â¤ï¸Â
Thankyou Mike for all that information. My daughter runs a lot and l do worry. Hope you enjoy your time in Australia, that's where l live.
4am in New England. True Crime is the ish! Thank u for all u do.
I have a serious problem in needing to eat chocolate and ice-cream and only the lack of money stops me
Stop now everyone will see me for what I am 😡💢😡💢😡 ðŸâ€ÂªÃ°Å¸Â©Â¸Ã¢Å¡Â°Ã¯Â¸Â☠ï¸Â💀
MAJOR GUT IS DEFINITELY THE KEY. CERTAIN GROCERY STORES I WILL NOT GO INTO. I EXPERIENCED A PERSON STAND BEHIND ME SO THEY CAN LOOK INTO MY PURSE. LEARNING TO BE AWARE AT ALL COST.
You can do everything "right" and still get nabbed. Women have an internal environment scan going the second they step out their front door. Men don't necessarily understand how automatic that is for us. We are "hunted" all the time whether it is eyes lingering too long, comments made on our outfits/bodies or whether or not we are "sweet" or "frigid". There is a fine line we dance upon daily. I listen. I scan. I sense. I do what I can…but we all have bad days. We have things on our mind. We are broke down in our vehicle. And let us not forget that we are physically less strong than men. We can debate that all day long, but a solid punch to our face from a man WILL stun us and often leave us incapacitated for a moment. It sucks. BUT…as all hunters know…if you want to tag that animal – you will do your research. Due diligence pays in the end. And if you aren't aware you are being stalked…they already have the upper hand.
I guess I am being triggered by the term "consequences" in terms of decision making. I feel it puts blame on the person being perpetrated on. Yes, there is cause and effect, but we can't live our lives in bubble wrap.
The ENTIRE culpability lies with the demented mind assaulting the other. They are not right in the head and that is that. Expecting "victims" to "change their routine" now and then seems so sad to me. We all have routines: jobs, chores, etc. Life happens. At least it is not the days of car trouble WITHOUT cell phones. That was THE WORST. You are literally unable to leave. You were at the mercy of the "good samaritan" rolling up to assist. It was so gut wrenching. Ugh.
Oh, as far as mace goes…most clubs/concert venues will pat you down and refuse admission with such items. I have had to walk back to my car so many times to leave those particular items behind. Extremely frustrating.
I used my bicycle as my main mode of transportation for about a year. There were things I did to ensure I was safe. In fact, I literally ran hundreds of scenarios thru my mind and how I would choose to react. There were very few that I felt I wouldn't go down swinging.
1. Chloroform
2. A syringe to my neck.
Those 2 are terrifying to me. Every other scenario…I had my "go to" response prepared.
I NEVER walk between a hedge and a van. I will choose to walk down the center of the street.
I would NEVER wear earbuds blasting music.
I would pay attention to the smell of cigarettes. Even if I hadn't noticed anyone yet…I knew they were there somewhere.
I got really comfortable speaking up when someone was being creepy. I would tell the cashier at a store. I would stand by the bus driver so it was reported on public transportation. I would wait until that individual was gone before leaving a store.
One more thing…haha…you also need to understand your State laws regarding self defense. It is really easy to defend yourself and cross the line and become the perpetrator. Crazy, eh?
Overall, an excellent episode.
I was out one night. I was on my way home and this car started following me. So when I noticed that the car was following me, I just drove straight to the police station. And whoever was in that car, was stupid enough to follow me to the police station. Once I started to get out to go in, they drove off.
As a runner, the thumnail is disturbing…
Shoutout to Mike King.💙💙
