In my opinion, Alex is smiling at his son because he loves hearing about his life, his family's legacy, his believed achievements. Alex is a classic narcissist. He has no remorse for all the people he hurt, and stole from. He uses every opportunity to admit to his pill use and stealing from people "he loved, and still loves." I get this is part of his defense, but it comes across as gloating to me. I think he believes he will get away with the murders, and then get a slap on the wrist for stealing all the money, by blaming it on the drug addiction. He took the stand because he thinks he is smarter than everyone else, can fool everyone, and loves to talk about himself, and control the narrative. The attorney's on both sides seem to be intimidated by him, which I'm sure just feeds his ego all the more.
Never once during any conversations with the police, etc, detectives, he never used the terms Pau Pau, or Maggs… He never uttered those pet names, he is now using them repeatedly for one reason!!!! To get sympathy from the jurors, he is a proven pathological liar, so anything he says, can’t be believed at this point,,He has lied about being at the kennels for over ONE solid year!!!!!!!!! OMG

I’m sorry and I know this is an unpopular opinion but j just don’t see proof beyond a reasonable doubt here. I’m not saying that the events leading up to this aren’t suspicious but suspicion doesn’t mean he’s guilty.
I cannot believe some of the people I'm listening to on TV, cannot understand why the prosecutor keeps bringing all of this money problems and had dirty Alex has been, two people he claimed he's known all their life and has loved them like brothers and sisters and mothers and fathers and whatever oh, he has taken advantage of the most vulnerable people out there. Showing them if he can be diskind of a monster do you not believe he could have killed his wife and son the two people that are basically because of his Empire falling. With them out of the way, he could get loans with that Maggie because it's most of it's in her name. I think he has money stashed, I think Eddie knows more than most people think he does.
