3. My issue with this one isn't so much with the shoot- I can't make a determination since you can't SEE anything and we don't have any statements to go off of- could be justified, could be murder, I don't have enough to be conformable guessing);

   My issues are that:
   1) This is a perfect example of why bodycams should be on from the second they go on shift until the second they're off, and they shouldn't be ABLE to turn them off or mute them. It's almost 2025- An hour of 1080p video is only 1.2 gigs. A cop could pull 80 hours a week for an entire MONTH, and still barely fill up half of one of the cheap SD cards I have in my phone. It also shows why they need weapon-mounted cameras- Viridian has had then for a DECADE, they're built into the flashlight, they aren't any bulkier than "regular" wml's, and they come on automatically as soon as a gun leaves the holster- and since they're always aimed directly at a suspect during a shooting and held at eye level, they're pretty much ALWAYS going to give the absolute best view of what the officer saw at the time.

   2) I' m so BEYOND tired of the "officer safety" shtick. Officer safety < everyone else's safety… INCLUDING someone they just shot, even if they think it's a suspect. This "screw all your freedoms, I'm more important" attitude is disgusting. When you've got a dozen armed men that're too afraid to approach one unresponsive person that's facedown on the ground after being shot with no weapons visible? THERE. IS. A. PROBLEM. Like, seriously? You could have two officers approach while the other 10 keep eyes and weapons on to watch for movement, but instead you're worried the guy you just shot might somehow magically get the drop on a DOZEN TRAINED INDIVIDUALS WITH WEAPONS ALREADY TRAINED ON HIM?

   Screw officer safety, and screw the police unions that fight tooth and nail against the kind of accountability that weapon-mounted cameras and always-on bodycams would bring.

9. Actually US military can not fire unless first fired on mean while US cops can fire on you if they FEEL like you have a gun. Curious that… Also I'd like to point out that hollow points are illegal for war as they are banned by the Geneva Convention Treaty however the US police all used hot loaded hollow points. So the police can fire when they feel like it they need to while the military can not AND the police use ammo banned by the flipping Geneva convention. That's a bit bonkers to me when looked at in context of the two professions purposes or assumed purposes.

And this was on thanksgiving so why wasn’t he with his family. There are still people saying akron officers should not have shot Jayland walker when jayland was shooting at the cops . People in these comments automatically go against the cops. And why was he not with his parents Akron is a dangerous city where was his parents since he was out there at night ?

23. By not activating body cams, this cop crossed the line between accidental to intentional homicide. You as an individual citizen in this country would go to jail if you shot anyone who had their back to you, armed or not, (if that was truly the case) and then to not have turned on your body cam to give your actions a credible witness to show justification of the shooting. By not rendering aid, and immediately calling EMS knowing you already shot the person, is very telling, whether he was alive or dead the call didn’t come till well after the shooting. That being said in my opinion with the information given, this cop was “trigger stressed”, meaning he was pre disposed to shoot first and then make up the story after the fact, to back up his story! I hope the truth is revealed and justice prevails if this was not a justified killing.

43. This looks fishy. The picture of that kid wearing a shirt about praying with his family raises a huge question in my mind: What thug in the US would wear that shirt about praying?
