A Marion County (Florida) Sheriff’s Deputy saw a couple sitting in their car, on their own property, where they were building a new “barndominium” in the middle of a large field behind their home. The deputy pulled onto the property, got out of his police cruiser, approaching the couple, who were sitting in their car eating a meal, as it was raining. There had been no report of criminal activity. The deputy just thought they looked suspicious and that they could be trespassing.

I ran into a similar-ish situation out in a place where it was family owned farm-land and we were doing target shooting, just outside of the county. Luckily, we closed the gate after entering the property and the local city cop was at the gate demanding ID. Nobody provided ID and the county Sherriff had to remind the city cop that he was outside of jousrisdiction and was also illegally parked on a private road, as the road has never been deeded to the county. The whole encounter was nerve-wracking, yo say the least, but entertaining at the same time.
Racial profiled black people don't own realestate what was he doing on private land there was no crime
Would the cop shoot you and kill you if you tried to put him in handcuffs on the cops property? Or it’s not okay? 😂😂
You have nothing that mean you are tresspassing the owner ask you to leave and you didn't no one call you just did it
"Send me another unit, he's being uncooperative" Let me translate that: "Help! This guy is refusing to let me violate his rights, and even has the audacity to give me lawful commands that I don't want to do!"
They will likely drag this out for years as they usually do before being told they were wrong rather than admitting they were wrong. In addition, a thing that drives me mad is the driving of cops – there was a driveway there but they both just drove over the grass because they feel they can drive wherever they like because they have blues and twos on their car!
Racial profiling or not, he had no reasonable suspicion to be on that property. Hopefully the couple sues and are compensated for this cops incompetence.
I would have loved to be in this situation….JS
A cop would have to trespass to investigate on every private property in every neighborhood in every city, because he doesn’t know a crime isn’t occurring in any of them. Stupid, punishment should be exile.
O M G ' take this video down – u DOXED them 2x – during 911
call #1 & #2
Lall he had to do waa say….hey ok… nice place … I waa just checkin to make the place is secure.. enjoy your evening … can I come see it when its done. Thanks. ..have a good day
It seems as though Qualified Immunity has given officers a sense of do what I want immunity.
The cops' explanations could work for any person even inside their own homes, "The lights were on at 3AM and I saw movement inside. Usually people aren't up that late, and drug dealers stay up all hours. When I knocked on the door, and they answered, they wouldn't answer any of my question, so I have no idea if they are suppose to be in that house. So, I forced my way in an detained them with handcuffs to ID them. "Did you check the address and ownership?" No, I was focused on the people in house at 3AM moving around.
It's understandable to feel frustrated or defensive when interacting with the police. Escalating the situation can have negative consequences. Remaining calm, respectful, and asserting your rights politely can lead to a more positive outcome.
Noble cause corruption is a form of corruption where law enforcement officers or other officials engage in unethical or illegal actions believing they are achieving a morally good outcome, often for the benefit of public safety or justice. It's a concept that arises when the "ends justify the means," even if those means involve violating rules, laws, or ethical principles.
It's absolutely racial.
Glad the video went viral!
Maybe that guy is a proud graduate of "Street Policing" Academy…ðŸ˜ÂðŸ˜Â
When professinal tyrants meet professional victims.
You realise what will happen if a law suit is filed against the police, retaliation thats what will happen.
My guess is they will contact the council and get them to look for any building code breach.
You know what, I would be happy if the police came to my house construction site the moment they saw a vehicle they didn't recognize with people they didn't know to check if they were robbing the house. I'd gladly give him my ID, explain that this is my build, and thank him for his caution. There are no black people in my country, but there's clearly something wrong with them for them to behave this way.
It's ridiculous how in all of these videos, officers trespassing is not even addressed. They don't even acknowledge the requests of homeowners to get off the property and think that the highest priority is their investigation and they are allowed to do whatever they want to do. The founding fathers would be rolling in their graves if they knew just how much we have squandered the opportunity that they gave us
0:37 – Ofc.: Hello Sir, I’m Ofc.(?), from the Marion County Police Department, nice to meet you, is this your property??
Property Owner: Yes, this is my property, I’m the owner Mr. (?),
Ofc.: Nice place, here is my card, if you have any problems or need anything, feel free to call. GOOD BYE…!
Property Owner: Thank You Sir, GOOD BYE…!
THE END.
Mentally incompetent bozo cop. Nothing new to see here.
Cant even be BLACK and sitting in your own car infront of your Own HOUSE , without these KKK cops coming and harrasing you,.
We all know that was racial profiling.
I don't jump to racial profiling as an explanation, but in this case, there really isn't any other explanation that I can see.
Just out of curiousity; What if the man had something illegal on himself? Would the officer still been allowed or not allowed to arrest him for what would then become an illegal search?
Small Town cop are stupid..as I say many many time…
Clear case of racial profiling
True the cop couldn't see who was in the car BUT that car model is associated more with black people than white. This is just basic observational stuff, as someone who lives in the south. In response to the Civil Rights Lawyer saying "Not racial profiling." Also, I highly doubt a nice white couple would get this over the top cop of the year scrutiny or treatment. Race was definitely a factor!
He witnessed no crime. No crime has been reported. Once they say it’s their property, and order him off, he needs to get the hell off the property. He can do whatever investigation he wants, from on the other side of the fence. All that “I didn’t know it was yours†bs is just that. BS. He didn’t know that it wasn’t, and a hunch isn’t probable cause, or even RAS, to trespass and demand ID.
Why does this little kid cop think his job is to verify who lives where?
If that police officer is still employed then shame on anyone that employs him. I hope he gets sued with his own money not taxpayers.
Im on the couple's side. They weren't doing anything that should require contact. Cops can't just say "everything is illegal" as their justification to harass them. This is why people hate cops.
Hay cop you didn't know that it wasn't their property So guilty till proven insensitive
You are an ass
TCRL explained it perfectly, IMO. But I can’t help but think there was some racism going on. 🤷
Did somebody ask the police department to monitor the vacant property while they weren't there? I don't think so
I'm going to disagree one it's not profiling because he couldn't tell who was in the car. I don't know why every time anyone asks a question a thousand victim cards come out. if the id matched the numbers on the property. cool I'm sorry to have disturbed you. these new areas get broke into a lot. I didn't know this house was finished I apologize for the inconvenience, and I'm gone. but the addressee on his id says his property maybe next door or two doors down. the cop is trying to look after the property owner but he is so busy throwing victim cards. and with her not answering its going to take more investigating to ensure he is on the right property.
17:37 No crime, it's all about emotion – how dare u be upset i tell u to leave my property
It seems to this cop has the idea that they have to prove they are not trespassing. It's the other way round. He's the one trespassing. No complaints , no reports yet he was arrested. Why do the police not see this as unreasonable. As soon as they ring 911 that should have smelt alarm. Unintelligent cops with more power than they have.
You should never of trespassed onto the property
So cop wants to make sure the owners don't get robbed.
The owners make it difficult, they could have said this is our place, this is my name, thanks for keeping an eye out for it for us. We appreciate it.
Instead. Its instant aggression. The cops aren't the only ones able to escalate.
Cops can't read minds. If you are going to live there, then the cops will be able to find out who you are anyway, just tell them and avoid problems.
GET OFF OUR PROPERTY, GET OFF OUR PROPERTY!!!
What do you expect the cop to do, you seem like some angry weirdo, you probably there to steal.
In the end, the cop did not apologise, which made it 100% worse.
Right in the middle of him eating a sandwich THIS IS UNREAL this cop needs ARRESTED FN BS URG THESE MAKE ME SO OOO MAD
This cop was definitely wrong and it seemed like racial profiling
