Baltimore County, Maryland — The Baltimore County Police Department released the body-worn camera video from the May 16 officer-involved shooting of an armed 29-year-old man in the unit block of Skipjack Court. The suspect is identified as Robert Johnson Jr (29) of the unit block of Championship Court, 21117. Police Officer First Class Knight, a 24-year veteran of the force, responded to a call for a nuisance at 10:42 p.m involving a crowd of people in the parking lot in the unit block of Skipjack Court, 21221. When Knight arrived, he saw a green Buick being driven erratically by Robert Johnson Jr. The Buick had struck several parked cars in the area. Officer Knight called for backup as he tried to make contact with Johnson.

As Johnson exited the vehicle, he dropped what appeared to be a handgun, but then immediately retrieved it. Commands given by Officer Knight were ignored and the officer then fired at the suspect. The suspect then began to flee from the officer toward other townhomes, police said. Knight again fired at Johnson, this time striking him. He then immediately called for medics. Once the scene was secure, they gave Johnson aid and he was taken to Shock Trauma, where he later died. Officer Knight has been cleared of any criminal charges by the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office. Officer Knight is presently on routine administrative leave.

  1. The black community has to stop justifying this stuff. The black guy would've survived if he didn't try anything. But he did, and he faced the consequences. CONSEQUENCES!

  2. Watching at 1/4 speed you can see the gun hit the ground at 0:55 and you can see that he's still got it in his hand at 1:08 just before he falls to the ground.

Dude's shot 5 times and is still running around, I think the FBI is wrong about the 9mm.

No surprise in the USA. I wonder in which moments the p-i-g-s life was in danger that it was justified self-DEFENSE?

  4. I don’t see why he had to shoot ? They guy never pointed the gun towards him nor did he run at them! He ran from him and this cop shot him in the back! What a coward ! I’ve seen videos of white armed criminals that get talked to like baby’s to put their weapon down with out a single shot being fired! Why couldn’t this be the case? He literally shot him in his back and on top of that shot him more while he was already in the ground dying! Way to go scumbag! Criminal or not his still a human and theirs no need excessive force!

  5. The defense is. They have to carry a gun in the neighborhood they live in. That's bs. If your neighborhood is that bad, then chance your neighborhood. Reason they carry guns is because they are part of the problem in the neighborhood
