Milpitas, California — On June 21, 2020, Milpitas Police officers responded to the 130 block of North Temple Drive on the report of a stabbing that had just occurred inside an apartment. When officers arrived, they were confronted by a 19-year-old Brandeis Codde near an adjacent courtyard who was armed with a large kitchen knife. Officers ordered the man to drop the knife and surrender, but instead, the man charged at an officer while still armed with the large kitchen knife. A Taser was deployed but unsuccessful at stopping the man, and an officer then used his service weapon to stop him. The man was taken to the hospital where he passed away from his injuries. As for the 34-year-old victim of the stabbing, he was treated at a hospital and released.
