Cleveland County Deputy Vaughn Cannon was arrested by Oklahoma City police officers after he allegedly shot and killed his wife Jordan, also a deputy, during a heated argument at a home early Wednesday morning. “Uncle, come see me,” the hysterical deputy said while on the phone asking for his uncle before officers placed cuffs on him. The couple was reportedly off-duty at the time of the alleged incident.

And this is the type of person we put on the force. This story isn’t about feeling bad for the guy on the floor (which I do) it is about the failure of police forces to employ mentally healthy and intelligent people. Far too common that we have mentally unstable officers who are then protected by the blue line and unions until a tragedy happens.
