Dr. Amie Harwick’s roommate testified Wednesday about what he heard and what he did when he realized she was getting attacked inside her Hollywood Hills home in February 2020. “It sounded like Amie’s voice screaming… blood curdling screams… it was just loud,” Michael Herman explained. “I thought she saw a mouse, literally.” Herman allegedly screamed up the stairs to Harwick before he ran to a neighbor’s house for help. Hawrwick’s ex-boyfriend, Gareth Pursehouse, is on trial for her murder.

37 thoughts on “‘Blood Curdling Scream’: Roommate Describes Hearing Amie Harwick Get Attacked Before Her Murder

  1. Its a man code ladies thats what the men folk are saying Trust me a real man always runs to that fight everytime cause the embarrassment of doing nothing is way more frightening than anything the intruder could ever do to me physically.

  2. Is this guy on COCAINE???? Sniffs and acts like a total LA coke head. Wow. Horrible "witness." How much blow did he do before this??

  3. Christ guess he couldn’t get ahold of his coke dealer before he testified 🙄🤡 good grief!

  4. Her roommate was a coward he could have done a lot more Like busting through the door come to her defence!
But he ran off to waste time calling for help! He could have saved her life. he heard blood curdling screams so he eat
and went back to bed!!! Such a loser

  5. He’s clearly traumatised. In that kind of situation, you have a choice: fight or flight. Unfortunately for this man, he chose flight, and he’s going to have to live with that decision for the rest of his life.

  6. Really redundant how these questions are being asked. I was standing in my doorway and yelled her name. Lawyer:where where you standing when you yelled her name? He literally just said it.

  7. That’s guilty. Man is just sitting there, knowing what he did wrong his head is down. He has not looked at once. He knows what he did. This poor man testifying is just trying to hold himself together.

  8. This poor man has to live with this for the rest of his life. He's probably having nightmares and still hearing her scream. I hate the way he's being treated. Not everyone has the fight or flight response when danger is apparent. His actions were normal for him! I hope he gets some much needed therapy. Prayers to all that have been affected by this POS!!! May they all find the help they need….

  9. What a coward. Trying to explain his reasons(feeble excuses) for not going up straight away. She would be alive if he had done what any normal person would have done.

  10. To those being incredibly insensitive to what this man has been through and thinks that he should have gone to help, let me give you some context – I live in a country with one of highest crime rates in the world, and if you have any sense you will know that it is NOT a natural instinct to run towards something that you perceive as ‘danger’, so in fact this man did what all of you would have likely done and left the house to get away. Until you have been in a situation like this, don’t be so quick to judge!

  11. Unpopular opinion: For some reason I feel the roommate was up the whole time based on listening to his testimony. 1. Around 4:314:35, he says I might have watched “some more TV”, then switches quickly to “watch some TV”. When the first set of police arrived, the TV was still on. Also, he keeps touching his face a lot which also in some cases, a clear indication of not being truthful.
    2. He says he heard blood curdling screams but equated to it perhaps Amy seeing a mouse. If that was the case, why not go help her get rid of the mouse? The fact he waited to decipher more on why she kept screaming and not running up immediately, tells me he may have been aware of this being more serious. Hence the decision to stay down and run out for help eventually. Either he’s extremely nervous here or he’s ashamed to admit there was more to his thought process & the ultimate actions he “decided” to take as opposed to the ones he “could have” taken. RIP Amy. 🙏

  12. This guy looks totally different in court to his photos they showed I actually thought they’re not showing the real guy in court

  13. I just hope they emphasize as much on the defendant, as they are on this “witnesses feelings” at the time of this horrific murder!!!

  14. Have you heard of a gag? I mean mf we tried. We are so classically codnioned into states of hypnosis that we think we are and we even feel in the body we are and we aren’t even vocalizing
