Watch Live: Iowa Family Murders Trial — IA v. Alexander Jackson — Day Five Part Two

A 22-year-old Iowa man faces three first-degree murder charges for the deaths of his father, mother and sister. Prosecutors allege Alexander Jackson shot all three family members on June 15, 2021, before calling the police to report that a masked intruder shot his family. Jackson denied the allegations but told authorities “his father recently told him to get a job or move out of the home,” the criminal complaint said. Prosecutors believe the shootings were done execution style and a coverup plan was in place by Jackson.

  1. People like this man should not get a trial, I know that everyone is allowed one by law, but he is utterly dispicable. There was no doubt he killed his family, and to say otherwise is utterly moronic.

  2. Does Alex have no extended family anywhere to testify on his behalf?
His scout leader hadn’t seen him since 2017 fgs!

Also – I’m sorry but him being in the Scouts further cemented my belief that he is comfortable with ( note he said his dad was helping him to clean the gun the night before) but didn’t he know how to clean guns already?
And how awkward was it when they kept mentioning guns during the scout leaders testimony?! 🤦🏾‍♀️ Lol

Is there a possibility Alex suffered from some sort of anxiety disorder and so the idea of actually going out and getting a job was so overwhelming he killed his parents so he wouldn’t have to go out into the world and be an adult?

  3. Um. I’m sure Nazis did have excellent dog training techniques and research but it’s still awkward for this dog trainer expert to using that to ground his testimony 😬

  4. im sure im right in saying these tracking dogs need something first to get the scent of so they can follow it… how can they find a scent if they dont know what scent they need to find? dogs noses are so powerful so she must be smelling so many scents..

  5. I'm sorry but the state's cross of the dog expert was Terrible. He didn't really understand anything the expert had actually testified to. And his over the top snarkiness just made him come across as a jerky little kid. He couldn't control the questioning, and had to keep asking the judge to monitor for him. Idk if he was just nervous, but he was jumbling his words, bad, (like pronouncing diabetes as, dia-beets) and he kept saying, "So you don't know… did you?" It's either, "You didn't know… Did you?" or "You don't know… Do you?" Seriously dial it back a notch or two big guy!

  6. Defense is trying so hard to prove we can't trust the dog. Prosecution used many methods to prove no one left that house after the murders. The police dog, cameras, eyewitnesses, evidence in the house etc. Even if the dog's findings were unreliable, they sure backed up everything else.

  7. I CANNOT believe the state rested!😳 all they did was vaguely visually show a few bits of visible evidence.. zero analysis of blood and/or bodily fluid on the scene, zero witnesses apart from basically officers there that day. Zero deep dive into computer or cell phone records etc. ( all they had was he googled a Star Wars movie!)
No character witnesses etc etc. there was basically zero foundation made, and zero scientific testimony apart from the coroner, who can't tell if it was Alex that shot them either…🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

  8. Did anyone check into the sister’s or parents background to see if anyone had issues or involvement with them? Why no lab folks testifying? I’ve had trauma. I had full seemingly somewhat coherent conversations for months after that I didn’t even know I had. 😒 I can’t imagine 4 hours of grilling while on that amount of pain meds and then asking to hold off on them. The investigator was biased and liar as he knew he was heavily medicated.

  9. The old dog also said if it's not in the paperwork it didn't happen several times. A perfect opportunity to call him out on these training he claims to have done that are not in his paperwork haha

  10. The young lawyer did a decent job cornering the old dog 🐕 but he needs to work on his snarky Middle school attitude. He over does it in a Manor that I'm afraid would be a turn off to the jury.
