Former ice cream truck driver Michael Keetley is facing a retrial for allegedly shooting six people on Thanksgiving 2010, killing two brothers, and injuring four others. Prosecutors allege Keetley was out for revenge after his ice cream truck was robbed for $12, but mistakenly targeted the wrong suspects. Keetley’s first trial in February 2020 resulted in a deadlocked jury. The former ice cream man is facing two first-degree murder charges and four counts of attempted murder.
Reason For Retrial: Defense attorney’s argued Keetley was too badly wounded from his own shooting, to carry-out the shooting in Ruskin that killed two people. Weak witness testimony led to a mistrial in 2020, after some state witnesses failed to identify Keetley as the shooter, identifying another man in a police mug shot packet. Defense witnesses were more exacting in their testimony, which led to a jury deadlock of 10 not guilty, 2 guilty, and eventually a mistrial.

Defence lawyer constantly berates this witness. It seems unjust when they aren't the ones on trial. I dont understand why the prosecutors aren't defending their own witness. It was horrible to watch this witness being questioned

the witness is a jerk hes one of those know it alls…..tells you false stories trying to make themselves seem interesting. Thinks they are clever and have no self awareness of people just being annoyed

If im a juror and every time the witness asks if he can clarify his answer, the defense attorney says no, im thinking the defense is afraid of what may come out and is hiding something.
I don't understand how if you have a defense team that gets you a 10-2 hung jury, why you would change lawyers.
Defense is so dramatic about objecting when detective is on the stand. He objects as if they've just caused the sky to fall and he is so put out by it. Lol

Not a good look that when, in the interview, he's listing all the guns, he leaves his guns, specifically his 45 to the end and as soon as he mentions 45, he calls it a 9 and when detective points out its a 45 is the 1st time he starts saying he can't handle then because of his injury.
In the interview of defendant, made my skin crawl how he was laughing so hard and joking about the big "shoot up" where 2 people died and many were severely injured.
Uld love to know exactly what gesture Mr. Beckwith made to the lawyer on his way out.
Had to laugh that right after saying he wanted to see someone tied up to a stump for the alligators, Beckwith says he doesn't like what people do to hurt other people lol
I've got to say, if I was on the stand and defense was yelling at me the way he was the witness at around 48:00 to 50 min mark, I'd be asking the judge to ask him to be a little professional. Regardless of how witness is being, yelling questions at him is not a good look and witness is not the professional here.

This defence are experts in working the jury when examining and constantly watching them when sitting at table
I despise the half bald defense attorney…and the bald defense attorney. Nasty men talking over everyone he questions then yelling at them for their responses.
Defense strategy seems to be to interrupt this trial as often as possible.
