The attorneys are playing hide the exhibits. Their clients won't quit babbling. The judge has less control over the situation than a corporal.
Law and Crime: Late starts, screwed up audio, missing audio and video, screensavers and test patterns, streaming an empty courtroom during breaks; none of that is necessary, productive, or enjoyable.
Please don't mute me, because somebody has to put the timestamps in if you can't. I try so go through every silence, break, and video screwup to make sure the timestamps that I post are correct and nothing happens during all the outages and breaks, so I can post good timestamps for the other viewers. That way they don't have to sit through every break and all the missing video.
