Verdict Watch: Antifreeze Murder Retrial — WI v. Mark Jensen — Day 14

Mark Jensen was charged in 2002 for the 1998 death of his wife Julie Jensen and convicted in 2008. Prosecutors say he poisoned his wife with antifreeze and then smothered her with a pillow when she wasn’t dying fast enough. In 2013 a federal judge overturned that life sentence, arguing a letter Julie had written before her death shouldn’t have been admitted as evidence. In that letter, Julie wrote that she was afraid her husband would try and kill her. Jensen will now face trial for a second time in January 2023.

Reminder: The defendant, Mark Jensen, is wearing headphones because he’s hard of hearing. Thanks.

  1. Ed Klug is even more credible to me because he didnt come forward all these years due to fear of Mark killing him and he was right!
too much corroborating evidence with the people in the jail too.
    Mark is a sickening fool

  2. I love the prosecutor on Dateline saying "every time I'm out eating a nice steak and a glass of wine, I know that SOB will be eating a bologna sandwich and a glass of water!"
If I ever need an attorney I want that guy!

  3. The thing that did it for me is him not calling an ambulance, if she was that sick and her breathing was that bad why oh why did you not seek help for her?!? That’s all the evidence I needed to know he wanted her dead. Who does that if you supposedly love somebody!? I can see the anger spewing out of mark as Jambois is speaking, I’m sure that’s exactly how he looked at Julie as she was dying. RIP Julie, I’m so happy you got justice 🙏🏻

  4. I watched the first trial and this 2nd trial, Mr Jambois is amazing and his dedication in getting justice for julie Jensen is also amazing!!!!! Thank you Mr Jambois 🙏 ❤❤❤

  5. The defendant murdered a good woman, a great mother and a beloved daughter, sister, friend and neighbour. She was a good wife too, despite her marital affair. I think the killer was jealous of her intellect and social skills. The affair gave him an excuse to gaslight her character, but l have nix doubts that he, himself was cheating on her from the start of their marriage, and going forward until her death. Any man who says a suit and rolex will fool decent people into thinking the wearer is legitimate? Is not a man, in the sense of what a decent man is considered to be. Neither is that man legitimate, in any sense. I watched the whole trial, knowing that he was snide, sneaky, manipulative, and now hes been exposed as a murderer too. Excellent work by the prosecution team, both in proving the killers intent and guilt, and presenting that to the jury. Great closing too.

  6. The letter julie wrote, that was not admissible in this trial:
…if anything happens to me, he would be my first suspect," she wrote. "Our relationship has deteriorated to the polite superficial. I know he's never forgiven me for the brief affair I had with the creep seven years ago … Anyway, I do not smoke or drink … Mark wants me to drink more with him in the evenings. I don't. I would never take my life because of my kids — they are everything to me!"

"I pray I am wrong and nothing happens … but I'm suspicious of Mark's suspicious behavior and fear for my early demise."

    RIP Julie.

  7. DA McNeill’s closing argument was awesome. Not emotional appeals, but evidence in chronological order to clearly show who was responsible for what and when! Loved seeing it finally placed all together that way.

  8. The prosecutions exhibits with the email discussions are deliberately constructed out of order. Pay attention to the time stamps. If you follow the accurate time stamps, the story about the affair loses cohesiveness. The defense should have created a proper chronological timeline. Doing so shows searches when MJ was at work as does the prior court of appeals discussion of the evidence during their analysis of harmless error. This is a travesty of poor ethics at the very least and deliberate contrivance at worst.

  9. God is good 😊 that narcissist monster from a bad childhood goes back in his cage where he belongs rest of his miserable life! WTH are him and that female lawyer laughing about?? So disrespectful!
