In June of 2024, a woman called police and claimed Charles Read kicked down her door and assaulted her, then fled on foot. Officer Mark Bellotte obtained an arrest warrant for Mr. Read. The only problem was… Mr. Read has been in a wheelchair for 25 years. Now there’s been an update. Someone’s been fired… but also someone hasn’t been fired.

  1. Sadly, nothing new here. Seems to me like the supervisor needs to be removed terminated Brady listed blackballed furthermore, his qualified immunity, and hind certificate, a long with his gun licenses need to be revoked.

  2. I'm baffled to say the least, seriously. Who says unironically "Eks" instead of Twitter? That's so cringe, it… what about the US cops being corrupt imbeciles and going against a paraplegic you ask? Oh, I call that Thursday.

    …the Twitter thing, though. Damn!

  3. Markenley Belotte
Records show Belotte had previously applied to work with the Atlanta Police Department in 2022, but the city rejected his application for not telling the truth. Atlanta Police wrote, “Belotte was untruthful when listing employment dates, deliberately omitted a termination and accused a [recertification training officer] of telling him to list an employer as a termination.”

After hiring Belotte in July 2023, College Park records show he was disciplined at least eight times in two years, including falling asleep during an extra patrol job; going AWOL on duty; clocking in more time than he actually worked; and accidentally deploying a taser inside the department.

  4. This is why you have to think first because if you just follow orders and make a bad arrest, you'll be the one on the chopping block. Officers are just who driven order followers.

  5. I don't know how the arresting officer took the fall for this one. He was ordered do arrest the man. Despite verifying it with his supervisor. This was a call made from leadership, mr potatochips. Which who remained employed, mr potatochips…

  6. The donut champion leaning back in his office chair, who has never seen Mr Reed: "It's obviously a ruse so he won't t get arrested"
Please play this clip in front of a judge who can take away his law enforcement certification and pension. Dumbass with the IQ of a potato is not worthy of a badge and a pension

  7. I was a Locksmith and a Safe Tech for about 40 years, and I saw right away how all this couldn't have happened.
Her door opens outward. Think about how hard it would be for someone even not disabled to kick in that door.
That's a heavy duty door also.
You do not enter that door by kicking it in from the outside unless you have a LOT of energy, you're VERY strong and have a LOT of time.
Going in that way would also leave a LOT of marks. I saw none.

  8. These guys that are highlighted time and again erode confidence in policing in America. They have no idea how they are making the jobs of their fellow officers who don't violate folks constitutional rights all the more difficult. Police officers I know who cringe at the actions of guys like these find them an embarrassment to the profession.
