Pierce County, Washington — On October 12th, 2025, around 12:45 am, Deputies with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office located a stolen box truck driving eastbound on 120th St E from 198th Ave E in the Bonney Lake area. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, which led to a wild pursuit by deputies. Several PIT maneuvers finally resulted in getting the truck off the road. Deputies noticed the two suspects were trapped inside the front cab, and they would need the fire department to assist with getting the suspects out of the truck. Things took a turn when smoke came from the truck. Deputies quickly moved in to start breaking the front windshield in an attempt to make a hole for the suspects to crawl out through. The suspects were able to crawl through a small hole that was made by the deputies, and both suspects were removed and taken into custody. The two male suspects were taken to safety a distance away from the smoking truck, and Fire was called for medical care. Both suspects were transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The 42-year-old driver was cleared by the hospital and later booked into the Pierce County Jail for possession of stolen property, eluding, and assault on police officers. The 38-year-old male passenger was taken to the hospital and released to get care for his injuries. A report will be forwarded for his current warrants, and the box truck was towed from the scene.

They should have let them burn, and can we talk about how amazing that cop is? He pitted a a vehicle with a GVRW probably 4 times the weight of his SUV…..and was cocky about it too. As a SEAL, I appreciate the cockiness.

So uneccasry. I like how heavy handed the US police can be compared to the UK in order to control a siutation but their driving doesnt even come close. They destroyed a truck, damaged their own cars and nearly killed two people. A box would've worked much better

It’s a shame the cops didn’t consider the possibility that they could have killed the perps by performing a PIT maneuver.
Or maybe they just don’t care. Someone who is fleeing from the cops has no rights and they deserve whatever happens to them. Pierce Co street justice.
Imaging the tables were turned and a perp managed to do a PIT maneuver on a cop during a high speed chase. Can you even imagine how many criminal charges the perp would face?
And the cops wonder why people hate them.
