The caller said a man had been shot and was running away. Patrol officers arrived a short time later and found a 29-year-old man a block away who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and is listed in stable condition. Witnesses provided a suspect vehicle description and direction of travel. The San Diego Police helicopter found a vehicle matching the description given by witnesses and directed officers into the area. The patrol officers stopped the vehicle near 54th Street and El Cajon Boulevard. Three suspects remained in the vehicle, but one individual ran from the car.
