Pueblo, Colorado — On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at approximately 7:12 p.m., Pueblo Police were attempting to locate Billy Soto in the 1200 block of Cedar Street. Soto had recently been added to the FBI Southern Colorado Safe Streets Taskforce’s Wanted Criminal list for an Attempted Homicide warrant for his arrest. Two officers were driving in the 1200 block of Pine Street when they encountered Billy Soto. As Officer 1 put his vehicle in park, Soto unveiled a AR Style Rifle and began shooting at Officers 1 & 2. The suspect fired multiple rounds, with one round striking Officer 1. Officer 2 quickly called for cover as he evaluated Officer 1’s injuries. Moments later a Retired Army Vet sprinted towards the officers with a field medical kit and immediately began rendering aid to Officer 1 until the first responders arrived. Multiple law enforcement agencies answered the call for assistance and quickly established a perimeter.

Officers were actively searching the neighborhood for the suspect as Officer 1 received treatment on scene and then was transported to a local hospital. At approximately 7:54 p.m., Soto fired 12 rounds on officers in an alley striking Officer 3 several times. Officers continued their ongoing search for Soto and at approximately 8:07 p.m., he again fired multiple rounds on officers in an alley and struck a third officer. Officers were able to determine Soto’s location as he was firing on the third officer (identified as Officer 5 on screen). Teams from the Pueblo Police Department and Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office moved into position, the suspect began shooting a fourth time and officers returned fire striking the suspect. Officers rendered medical aid, however, the suspect was declared deceased on scene. All three injured officers were transported to the hospital following the incident. They were later released after receiving medical treatment.

  2. It's always the upstanding citizens doing this stuff. We've got to figure out society is failing them so badly that they are dropping out of their medical and engineering classes to start carrying guns on the street.

It's an epidemic, and it's weird.

  3. Why are we using pistols like i do not get going into an active shooter situation where you don’t grab a fucking long gun thats sitting in your car

  4. The DA’s name is Kala Beauvais. She is the one that made plea deals with him on his 14 felony arrests, which led to him being released much earlier than he should’ve been and almost made it so 3 officers wouldn’t get to see their families again.

  5. But Colorado has such strict gun laws. What happened??? I thought all of their legislators' made laws that made this sort of thing illegal. How did this happen? Doesn't the gunman know he's breaking the law? Weird??? I feel bad for anyone in law enforcement these days. Vote these dopes out of office so we can get a sane existence back.
