‘More Guilt’: Alex Murdaugh’s Rehab Text Reveals Admission to Hurting Loved Ones

Alex Murdaugh’s former law firm colleague read a text message sent to her and another coworker by the disgraced South Carolina lawyer while he was in rehab in September 2021. “The better I get, the more guilt I have,” Annette Griswold said reading the text sent by the disbarred attorney while he was in rehab. “The worst part is knowing I did the most damage to those I love the most.”

  1. He was self serving beginning to end. He thought he was the smartest Alex out there. We can all follow his thought process it's so obvious. Man up and do the right thing for ONCE in your life Alex.

  2. This case is just a distracting publication from what we really need to know. Like all the truth about joe and hunter biden and their criminal family.
After all who is Alex murdaugh but another anybody crooked lawyer and they’re a dime a dozen.

  3. I still think the murderer(s) were hiding on the property waiting for Alex to leave and are related to Alex owing money to cartel or some other group being that there has been a history of associations with trafficking through the properties and islands they owned on the coast of South Carolina, or even possibly some angry clients whose money was missing or related to the death threats Paul had been receiving. I still don’t see how it would be possible to completely rid your skin, Hair and nails of all human matter and gun shot residue from up close shootings and in a matter of an hour he supposedly threw a cell phone, hid clothing and weapons and completely cleaned all traces of residue and dna even though he spent the hour traveling 15 minutes both directions to his moms, waited outside 5 minutes for the caretaker to open up and 20 minutes laying with his mother and he was on business phone calls during the same hour. It’s just impossible to completely rid yourself of all traces of dna and residue in that little time especially with proof of all of the other things he was busy doing. The killings were also very brutal like a cartel style. He may even know who did it being that he said “they did him so bad” but too afraid to accuse them or implicate himself in trafficking.

  4. Is this a murder trial or about finances… MOST of the evidence is financial and circumstantial on the murder and the crime scene was not secure shotty work. I can asume they are saying he murdered because of this… well, they already said there was no money he would have received the outcome. I personally don't believe it was for sympathy.. yes, he stole money. He has been doing it for years, Why would he do it now and what would he gain from it. My opinion the state's running down a rabbit hole and I know they keep repeating a lot of things and they keep asking the same thing over and over and over again of same people and know what their game is I'm trying to get the jury to remember everything they're saying and I know that they're trying to get people to say look he stole nobody thought he could do that so he could also killed because nobody would ever believe he would do that.

  5. Wenn du glaubst

Du verschwendest dein Leben mit mir

    Dann Murdaugh

    Und was gestern noch war

Zählt heut nicht mehr bei dir

    Dann Murdaugh

    Versteh' doch

Fragen, gibt es auch tausend Fragen

    Ich weiß nur

    Irgendwie muss ich

    Was kommen wird

    Ertragen

    Versteh' doch

Fragen, gibt es auch tausend Fragen

    Ich weiß nur

    Irgendwie muss ich

    Was kommen wird

    Ertragen

    Murdaugh

    Ich sage dir

    Geh doch

Unser Schweigen allein kann die Antwort nicht sein

    Versteh' doch

Fragen, gibt es auch tausend Fragen

Aber wenn noch ein Funken von Hoffnung besteht

    Dann bleib doch ………………………………………………………….(Howard Carpendale)

  6. I don't understand why the defense fought not to have drug addiction admitted. The judge agrees to redact any such inference. The prosecution had her read the redacted message. Then the defense had her read the full message, including that he was in rehab? Please help me understand their motive.

  7. He is a con man alright. In his own words he said: "It was so bad, I did him so bad" With Paul's brains splattered all over he realized just how bad it was. He had motive, means and opportunity. He knew it would be difficult for some to believe he could do this to his son and wife and has played the nice guy sympathy card ever since.

  8. I think the rehab story was just another con. He knew the police were coming down hard on him and he needed more time out of custody. After 20 years opioid addiction the withdrawals are so bad that it’s not over with in a couple of weeks, he would have needed many months to recover. I smell another sorry me story here

  9. I 10000% guarantee you as a retired trial lawyer that Alex wrote his Rehab letters of contrition to the loved ones he cheated, lied to and stole from in regards to his financial crimes so they could be read t
to this jury so they'd be moved by his "confession." Its self serving, manipulative, desperate, disingenuous and ultimately pathetically transparent.

  10. And then there was John List.. killed by gunfire..3 children.wife and mother..because of him losing his job.. after 18 years they caught him. I believe Alex knew his life was over.. and no way in hel* was Maggie going to live on without him.. in other words..if I can't have her..no one can.. Paul was going to do time.. so in his mind.. they had no reason to live. Expendable.. making sure they were never Happy again. Paul was Mama's boy. Alex as an addict and Psycho…cared only about himself

  11. If he was on trial for financial crimes – he’d be going away for an unbelievable amount of time. Sad thing is, the murder case is not so full of evidence and a motive.

  12. I think he is remorseful and full of regret….it shows, especially, with his close relationships.
He was hyper pressured/desperate the day of the killings between the confrontation at the firm and all
the pressure from Mark Tinsley about his financials.
The boat wreck opened EVERYTHING up and there is your motive.

  13. This could be referring to his financial crimes! I think the Judge has made a big mistake allowing the Financial crimes to be intertwined with the Murder trial! It has muddied the water so much that that a Retrial is almost inevitable!

  14. Is there any proof Alex was addicted to any drugs? He is such a manipulator. I see him using the drug claim as an excuse for all the theft and sympathy.
    SHOW THE RECIEPTS!!!!

  15. They KEEP harping on this stealing money. They DO understand this is a MURDER trial RIGHT???… They understand that…. Right???? They offer no proof he pulled the trigger,, just that he's a thief. AWESOME, maybe that'll help during THAT trial. SHOULDN'T have any bearing on THESE charges, PER the LAW

  16. Proves NUTTIN. I truly pray that the State has something up they're sleeve, because if NOT, he'll go to prison but NOT for Murder. This is the beauty of our system. If you have defence Counsel, you have a real shot. His Counsel is OUTSTANDING and the state has proven NOTHING. He hurt his family by putting them thru these trials and stealing money, BAM, this argument is OUT. WEAK AG Attorneys

  17. This guy’s behavior and demeanor just scream GUILTY !!! His rocking & bobbing reveals his guilt. A truly grieving person would be extremely sad and almost physically immobilized by weeping, not this extreme body tension. He’s listening as if he’s so worried that the witness might say something incredibly damning that influences the jury to convict him. He knows he’s guilty and he is so upset that he got caught.
