‘Little Detective’: Alex Murdaugh’s Son Was Wife’s Informant on Father’s Drug Abuse

Maggie Murdaugh called her son Paul her “little detective,” according to her sister Marian Proctor. “He was always looking to make sure his dad was behaving,” Proctor stated before explaining Maggie’s concern was prescription pain pills. Alex Murdaugh also said his son was “like a little detective” when talking to investigators three days after the murders.

  1. So it looks like the entire family knew that Alex was taking pills. So I'm sure people at his law firm knew there was also something wrong. And this is what happens eventually when everyone knows there's something wrong with someone but no one does anything about it and then something tragic happens!

  2. This sister knows a lot more than she’s saying. She’s watching her words. Her and her sister probably knew about the housekeepers and how it wasn’t an accident but it’s too late to tell now right. They all disgust me and they are hunters 😡 All lives matter. Humans don’t need meat to live stop killing animals they are the r we l victims here.

  3. As bad as I feel for Maggie's sister, I think she's delusional about the character of her nephew, Paul. He may have been sweet to her but in truth he was a spoiled entitled brat.

  4. I thought nobody else caught Alex calling Paul a “Little Detective”. I think the family was at their wit’s end with the drug problem. Alex was spinning out of control & his world was crashing down! While I believe he had a major drug problem, I don’t believe the 50,000$ a week bs! There’s no way!

  5. R.I.P. Maggie & Paul 🙏😔 I know there is a God in heaven and this. East will pay for every harm he’s done. 😢😢and for other deaths that are pending to solve. All for greed $$$$ disgusting.

  6. Nice, what are you tube shorts for but to correct generations of ingrained prejudice and ignorance about differences in ability, one facile platitude at a time😊❤😧🤮

  7. I've heard many good things about psychedelics like the psilocybin mushrooms and their health benefits, I also heard it helps one get through addiction and depression. I'm just wondering where or how I can get my hands on them cause I'll love to give it a try, I'm passing through a state of terrible depression lately and it's killing me

  8. It's clear to me through this trial that the motive for this case is that Alex murdaugh killed Paul and Maggie, as a last ditch effort to preserve his family legacy by leaving the entire family estate to Buster. Maybe he also intended to die, but chickened out

  9. It is a common side-effect of long term Oxycontin addiction to develop sleep problems. Its been reported that Maggie was extremely worried about Alex's insomnia & exhaustion. She told her sister she was worried he'd die from exhaustion. Because Oxycontin relaxes, many abusers mistakenly think it will help them sleep but in reality it can contribute to the problem. Anyone who has suffered through insomnia knows it can be a big problem, particularly when a long-term problem. Hard to think straight when you haven't slept well in years.

  10. While I still can’t condone what he’s done or his behavior… I’m starting to realize why Paul was drinking so excessively and acting so erratic.

  11. I had a feeling it was something like this! I think Paul was a very un happy kid! He seen his dad be an addict his whole life! That drug, for that long, makes you numb and not just physically! I think Alex was numb of everything and that helped him be able to do this horrible crime! He was mad she was leaving him and he blamed his son for everything! So sad, but I do feel the drug addiction did play a huge role in everything! I seen that ish destroy so many people and almost including my self!

  12. Alex is a terrible man. He calls his grown son a little detective. He was recorded on tape at the dog kennels along with Paul and Maggie. I believe Alex let one of the dogs loose Bubba. So that Maggie and Paul were distracted enough that Alex could murder them.
