Prior to opening statements in the Murdaugh Murders trial, the prosecution and defense faced off over whether the jury will learn about disgraced lawyer Alex Murdaugh’s financial crimes in his murder trial. The state alleges that Murdaugh killed his wife and son in June 2021 as a distraction from the pending fraud charges against him. The Law&Crime Daily team has the details.

The prosecutor & judge made the right decision. The defense team just want to hide what a Liar, Thief, & Monster Murdaugh is.
If Alex Murdough DIDN’T do it WHY IS HE NOT screaming for the authorities to go find the real killers? This is bizarre.
This is a sad case. No matter how you look at it. It's just so sad.
I believe the financial issues were the motive. Maggie was interested in divorcing him ( big financial hit) and Paul's accident was also going to reveal his financial condition because Alex owned the boat. Remember we are taking about a psychopath who was willing to stage his own shooting so that Buster would get 10 million in insurance money to cover his debts. We need to stop believing that his thought processes are what a normal person would do.
The walls were closing in on him & he knew he was going down for FRAUD & addicted to opiates. His youngest was a disappointment & embroiled in a lawsuit/charges. He took out 10 Million insurance & had his one remaining child Buster as the inheritor, Hired a hitman to kill himself but that failed.
Speaking as a South Carolina native, I promise you this case would not be getting any of the traction it has if reporters like Mandy Matney hadn't kept the eyes of the people on it!! The rest of the country may not really understand when trying to follow the thoughts of a person capable of something this horrible, you also have to remember these are people who have been protected from any consequences of their actions having any real chance of actually being held to account, especially when scrutinized by the country could cause so many others dirty deeds being brought to light. Think about every person who has done "a professional or personal favor" for not only this man but any members of his family 9r firm. Bc, this is not a genuine genius criminal and he certainly didn't get this far this, this deep in debt or this dirty all by himself. So, yea it has to be hard for most people to understand his motivation, but it absolutely wouldn't have taken much to sweep anything he had done under a rug, and the murder of his son and wife would absolutely have been enough to distract the public from the financial case he could not risk having to answer real questions on.. not bc of that one case, but because of every single favor or choice to look the other way, that allowed it to get this far in the first place..

Murdaugh should've just been a priest. He was just too allergic to people to be a lawyer. That's why religion exists. To surrender to the world and to declare that you want to be left alone. But he was absorbed by the success of his family. Religion is aspirin for people. It's there for a reason.
Either kill them himself or he had it hired.
