Moreno Valley, California — On Saturday, April 3, 2021, around 6:25 PM, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Deputies from the Moreno Valley Station were assisting another agency with the search of wanted suspect Juan Carlos Estrada, a 40 year old resident of Corona, who was in the Moreno Valley area. Estrada was wanted in connection with a possible kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon which occurred earlier in the day. The search led deputies to a home in the 16000 block of La Fortuna Lane. Multiple deputies arrived at the location and began to give verbal commands over their patrol vehicle speakers, from in front of the home, for Estrada to exit.

Estrada did not exit the home. During this time, dispatch received a call from a woman inside the home advising that Estrada was inside and “acting like he has a gun, but he doesn’t have one.” More verbal commands were given for the Estrada to exit. A few moments later, Estrada exited the home with his arms extended toward authorities, holding a dark-colored object. At that time, a deputy involved shooting occurred. Estrada was struck by the gunfire and despite lifesaving measures, he was pronounced deceased on scene. The object Estrada was holding turned out to be a water bottle with a dark-colored liquid. No deputies were injured during this incident.

  1. What people don’t know is that the suspect also received a call that a groups of thirsty cops were around and needed water. Suspect found one of the cops and ran towards him with the water bottle but the other officers saw him and wanted the water too. That’s why they shot him to get the water bottle. But, I bet you the suspect would’ve not been shot had he ran towards the cops with a case of water bottles!

  2. I really hate what the police were doing with the first guy. Putting him through a completely pointless game of Simon Says.

Reminds me of the Daniel Shaver incident.

  3. at first, I thought the suspect was the first guy…then the shooting started.
when I saw that that guy was still standing, I thought that he had super powers.
The real suspect ran out of the house and made like he had a gun and pointed it at the police as he ran towards them aggressively.
I guess he wanted to commit suicide by cop and he wasn't a total failure after all.
    SAD.

  4. I did not realize what happened until after I read the comment section…I thought the guy in the black shirt is who they were shooting at, but after reading I rewatched the vid to realize someone came out the house running towards them….holy F*** that dude in the black shirt was lucky AF!

  5. Anyone old enough to remember when we didn't need bottled water? Water was drinkable from any faucet. Now daylight savings is here (spring forward) even though we voted it out in 2018 (rigged elections).
