K9 Igo Ends Suspect’s Escape Attempt Instantly

Rochester, Washington — On November 7, 2025, in the early morning, Thurston County deputies began searching the Rochester area for a domestic violence suspect. The suspect had a felony warrant out for his arrest for Theft 1 DV with new probable cause for residential burglary DV and felony violation of a DV protection order. The suspect, who was high on meth and barking back and forth with K9 Igo, was located in a travel trailer. Despite nearly an hour of negotiating, the suspect refused to exit. Deputies were granted a search warrant to enter the trailer and arrest the suspect. Prior to that occurring, the suspect ran out of the trailer toward the deputies with a black object in his hand (which later turned out to be a flashlight). Deputies simultaneously deployed a taser and a 40mm less lethal round as the suspect turned and tried to make a run for it. K9 Igo made short work of the fleeing suspect, taking him down immediately and allowing deputies to handcuff the suspect while remaining on the bite. The suspect was treated at the hospital and booked into TCSO jail for his warrants, residential burglary DV, criminal trespass 1st, felony domestic violence order violation, unlawful possession of meth, resisting arrest, and obstructing.
