  1. I'm old enough to recognize the reference when the old dude says, "Where's the key to my cell, Andy?" He's talking about the Otis character, the town drunk on The Andy Griffith show. Whenever Otis got drunk, he'd head for the jail, grab the keys that were always hanging next to "his" cell and sleep it off. In the morning, Andy's aunt would bring him a home-cooked breakfast.

    Nicer, gentler times.

  2. That was actually a pretty sweet song, but please get help for your drinking dude! I used to be in and out of jail and now I’m a year sober and it feels great! You can do it!

  3. Everyone claims they did nothing. They even say it while they are actively doing something. The police get so much crap when they spend 40+ hours a week dealing with all the people no one else would want to deal with at all.

  4. My grandad was such a regular to jail that he was literally let in to sleep at night and free to walk out in the morning without any strings attached. He was homeless, through no fault of my dad's. But, jail gives you dinner and breakfast. It's cool or warm, depending on time of year, but he was one of the most harmless people in a jail. Any jail. He just drank. Then some evil brothers took him out, threw him in a river, and no one ever saw him again. Until 10 years later. We buried what was left of him. I hope this kind hearted guy is better taken care of through his life.

  5. “I’m a guitar picker, with no place to play.”

Yeah, because you get drunk and bother people.

  6. I’ve been in jail several times (recovering addict with almost 3 years sober). I would never go after jail staff… they are just doing their jobs
