    Details/Police Report, etc: https://thecivilrightslawyer.com/2025/01/25/dementia-patient-arrested-in-walmart-as-his-wife-shops-lawyer-exposes-lies-and-coverup/
66 year-old John Hardwick is a dementia patient who loves to shop with his wife at the Walmart in Danville, Kentucky. As they were shopping, he became separated from his wife. He ended up being harassed by employees of Walmart, who then asked their cop buddies to join the harassment. Several officers with the Danville Police Department then violently arrested John. Surveillance footage captured one of the officers punching Mr. Hardwick 6 times. Sadly, they subsequently continued to prosecute him. Fortunately, his wife hired a great lawyer, and he blew the coverup wide open.
Petition to fire the officer: https://www.change.org/p/demand-dismissal-of-officer-tj-godbey-and-suspension-of-his-accomplices

  2. He paid for items. They took him to jail without securing his purchase/property. So Walmart is the thief in this situation. Police assaulted and covered it up. Three police and the Chief needs to be fired. Get this on National News.

  3. they were so fucking giddy to arrest someone its gross. Poor guy. put yourself in his shoes with how frustrating embarrassing it must be having dementia

  4. What I wouldn't give to see US Marshalls go arrest every person involved and charge them with a federal crime of violating the ADA laws.

  5. Weak men doing anything they can to extract and steal power from another by belittling and physically assaulting some one who is unable to stand up for themselves.

  6. I hope he sues Walmart. The police officers involved and the employees at Walmart and he leaves them penniless. That was disgusting. What a bunch of cowards.

  7. Dementia behavior has recognizable differences from intoxication. Mandatory mental health training required from Chief on down. The striking LEO needs to apologize to the family.

  8. You’d think cops would have proper training by now. We already know they have no ethical standards or integrity so the beating thing doesn’t surprise me.

  9. everyone involved is somehow more stupid than a man with dementia who has no idea what is going on (including the woman prosecuting him, who should lose her license and probably face charges herself consider how completely deranged this is)

  10. Dementia patients can not be held legally accountable for their actions. They ALWAYS have a legal guardian/ caretaker. Also, they will get to a stage where they wonder off and that looks like this is what's happening to this man. The police should NOT be treating the elderly like this. They should ALWAYS be mindful that the elderly may have medical issues.

  11. Absolutely insane that they're responding to a diabetic emergency and just standing there asking questions to someone who's obviously incapacitated. How can anyone be this incompetent? Feel like there has to be some type of training they've been through if they're responding to that. Not a single person in the pharmacy could be called on to help even consult what's going on? Feel like Walmart deserves a fat lawsuit in this situation as well.

  12. Im sick of seein these cops wit no humanity. Theyre not even willin to loosen his cuffs or call his wife. These guys are pieces of sh*t

  13. Nah, the asset protection guy, is not the only piece of shit here, he is just an American. So, you know to avoid them, if you happened to have misfortune, to meet one.

  14. Disgusting in everyday. Why in the world wouldn't the clerk not sell him beer?! What, he doesn't look over 21!?
Leave it to the cops to escalate a simple situation into a crime. They need to be fired and charged with assault…..
