‘I Did Him So Bad’: Alex Murdaugh’s Lawyer Disputes Potential Confession to Son’s Murder

Alex Murdaugh’s lawyer pressed special agent Jeff Croft over the recollection of a police interview he did with the disgraced attorney in June 2021. “According to your testimony, he says “I did him so bad,” Jim Griffin said challenging the officer’s testimony from the prior day. Griffin then repeatedly played an audio clip from the interview to allow the jury to decide what the disbarred South Carolina lawyer actually said about his son Paul on the night he was killed.

  1. @2:30:00 "They did him so bad" or was it "I did him so bad"?

Are you serious? That investigator needs his hearing checked and the defense team should asked when the last time it was. Did they? I'm watching this straight through, beginning to end so I don't know. Every time I heard the clip, I always heard "THEY". Even before I knew it was controversial, always "they".

  2. Paul and Maggs are gonna be visiting him for sure. Either way, it didn’t go the way he planned it; tho it rarely does. RIP to some not so decent people tbh

  3. Did anyone hear, l lied. I'm sure he said, l lied.
Some may think he said, l cried.
If he said THEY, did him so bad, then there's a good chance he's lying. This person is a lawyer for goodness sake, he knows exactly what to say. 🙄

  4. I don't agree he could've meant I wasn't the greatest father. I can't actually hear if he's saying I or they. But if I had to pick I would say it sounds like he's saying they did him so bad

  5. This is one of those things where you can hear it both ways depending on what you're listening for. Like when they change the lyrics to a song by showing you different words, and all of a sudden you now hear it another way. There is no way to really know what he said. They should have questioned him further on this!

  6. Officer had a chance right there, to open a conversation to get hi. To confess. Why didn't he do that? Makes no sense. Never heard of any officer not pursuing such a statement, confession. Ever

  7. “it’s just so bad … THEY did him so bad” … is what I hear when I slow recording down … understand from others here in Comments who are from the “South” regarding accents & styles of southern expression, that “did him so bad” is a very common saying … still feel certain AM guilty for myriad of reasons related to current “perfect storm of facts” including his financial crisis, discovery of his “criminal” activities & continued drug use, imminent court appearance of his son re boating fatality plus imminent death of his father … Maggie & Paul may you RIP together with others who have died in connection with AM such as Hakeem, Gloria & possibly Stephen

  8. They need to stop referring to him as "Mister" Alec. The term mister denotes respect. Everything he's engaged in has been corrupt. He's not worthy of respect, even IF he didn't commit the murders, which I think he most certainly did. The embezzlement and outright theft is bad enough.

  9. I get what the defense is saying—with his accent it could be "i" or "they". but this is one of those trial moments that lives in infamy and gets branded into the jury's mind. sure you can analyze it all you want, but when you listen to his voice, it sounds like something tumbled out of him that shouldn't have. I can't really put my finger on it, but the anguish in his voice is disturbing, like his soul is speaking through him trying to communicate something very wrong.

  10. None the less what was actually said, will be presented with proper audio. This is not enough to convict him even if it is " I "…
time line …cell calls ..attempts at manipulating the maid as to what time he was at his mother's..residue of from guns. Maggie's clothes the pajamas & underwear laid out on floor near laundry ..Maggie was estranged from him and had seen an attorney for a divorce. There is so much more to be brought in to this. The drugs…the flat tire incident calling cousin Eddie – wanting Eddie to kill him so buster could receive insurance. Eddie no way wanted any part of that…possibly Alex was setting Eddie up to be blamed for the murders. So much conniving and manipulation is being brought out. SHOCKING …THIS WHOLE THING IS HORRID SO GRUESOME

  11. I heard Alex say, "It's just so bad, I did it so bad," there's no if's and's or but about it! Alex Murdaugh's lawyers need to clean their ears and get hearing aids!

  12. I heard “They” … I still think he’s a piece of work that deserves time for SOMETHING…however in this case I heard “they” it is what it is
