  1. This is absolutely terrifying for another woman to go thru. alot of people dont think this can happen even in a normal relationship. my relationship with my ex partner was fine until we broke up and then 4 months later my house is gone and kitten. watch your self no matter if they are crazy or not. promise.

  2. This is a result of the American health care system and a dysfunctional republican political system. The USA needs to scrap their constitution and move to a parliamentary system to at least get things done, like proper health care.

He needs drugs costing USD 700 a month (!) but his insurance (costing God knows what monthly) ceased so he is off his medication.

    SMH

  3. Health insurance not paying for antipsychotics for someone who is clearly unpredictable and violent when not on his meds is criminal. Why don't they face consequences for all the harm they contributed to?

  4. Wow. That lady thinks that her husband is just going to be let off with a slap on the wrist? You think!!?? Committing arson, assault on a person, auto theft, and so much more. What the hell is she on?

  5. Insanely unfortunate situation. I know it's probably not going to happen now that he's incarcerated, but I hope he's able to get some appropriate therapy and assistance if he genuinely does have DID or OSDD. It's a hell of a condition, and not one that you can simply medicate away. Hopefully he's given therapy resources that understand that plurality isn't inherently a problem – cohesion is the goal, not singularity. But I think he has to have other comorbidities to be causing troubles like this.

  6. Of all the things that could have made me sick in this video, it was the dog crying about losing her puppy that got me. Dogs are emotionally intelligent creatures. They care about their young. Humans can eventually recover from broken hearts, but I doubt that dog ever would

  7. It’s really unfortunate, he seems like a nice, funny good hearted guy, but he has some serious mental issues that I don’t believe can be fixed or at least fixed easily. Hopefully he gets the help he needs while away and fixes himself! I hope the people he wrecked into all made it through ok! Great Job Officers!!

  8. This video serves as the perfect example as why Universal Healthcare of some sorts is desperately needed. This man should have never been off of his medicine, and while we don't know the reason of his insurance lapsing (usually loss of work and not being able to afford a plan) the way the health system works in this country is partially to blame. We have a mental health crisis in this country and around 25 MILLION Americans are uninsured.

And it is a vicious circle: Someone with mental illness might be able to have a fairly normal life, including holding a job, if the right medicines are taken every day. Someone that does not take said medicine, will not be able to hold a job. And you don't get medical insurance on day 1 of a new job, you get it after 1 month or 3 months or whatever time is set full employment. Someone that is out of work and out of medicine and no way to afford it….. is almost destined to end up where this guy ended up.

The system needs to change. If you are unemployed, there should be universal healthcare and cheap prescriptions. Once you get to be employed, your company health insurance kicks in. The law already says (Obamacare) that any company over 50 employees must carry health insurance coverage so companies can't just skip benefits and let universal healthcare do the rest. I would call it a hybrid system.

Regardless: This was preventable. If this man had taken his daily medicine, this most likely would never have happened, and MANY lives would have been different. Even this man himself acknowledged he did what he did because he didn't take his meds because he ran out. This man is a criminal, but he also a victim. A victim of a ruthless medical insurance system that leaves the unemployed completely in the cold. And for what? For medicine that probably has a ten dollar co-pay and costs $150 in insurance billing. Nobody should NOT be infuriated by that.

  9. Chasing him isn't going to help its going to escalate. When you are in an altered state the easiest way to get caught is to have ghost cars and plain clothes officers. He is in a 3000lb weapon and chasing him puts more civilian life harms way. Keep your distance and bottle neck. Lights and sirens will only aggravate someone in that state of mind. I never had sympathy for people like this. Then on high dose prednisone and other drugs for illness I had issues I never had before. the only way to get through it is medication and time. Now that I have an understanding of what its like, and especially when the meds end do I find myself more sympathetic. At the same time when an individual refuses meds and help and throws away their whole life with no regard for their spouse kids or parents let alone friends. I loose empathy altogether. Such a hard but fine line.

  10. Some people deserve each other. From the outside we can see this girl needs to be free from him but in her mind she thinks she needs him to live life and she can fix him. Endless cycle of abuse and misery for her and everyone around her. Sad. I've seen it a few times in life and it's baffling.
