A Law&Crime Network trial watcher asked if there was any “solid evidence†presented so far in Alex Murdaugh’s trial that can be used to directly prove he was the shooter that killed his wife and son. “No, I don’t,†criminal defense attorney Bob Motta said before discussing the lack of direct evidence prosecutors have to back up their allegations against the disgraced South Carolina attorney.

There’s just not enough evidence in this whole case, still. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I’m not understanding why everyone jumped the gun so much on this case
They are so right if they didn't even go in that house and swab and all that. He may have been wrongfully accused
I am from the UK so ive not heard of this before i watched the Netflix doc the other day, Although there is only circumstantial evidence Its quite obvious he did it… What bothers me is the motive. He clearly loved his family, Never any signs of a bad relationship with his wife always smiling in pictures even a video of him messing with a tree with his son laughing at him maybe a hour before. They seemed happy and normal. It just doesnt make sense. To say he brutally blew his sons brains out point blank range with a shotgun and put 5 to 6 shots in his wife with a high powered rifle at close range to draw attention away from his money laundering is a little too far fetched to me. Its interesting because its weird.
These are law EXPERTS, and they are exactly right! There was no clear motive, no real evidence, poor police work and on and on! Why the heck didn’t the jurors have notebooks??? They were out 1 hour! He deserves a new trial.
That snapchat ended him. The love of money is the root of all evil. He is guilty as sin
Overwhelming circumstantial evidence is enough to declare someone guilty in our legal system.
I feel that revenge was made… Paul laughed at the boyfriend and on the 911 call the boyfriend tells the operator that Paul would get off because he’s a murdaugh! I feel he got revenge and the legacy of the murdaugh is finally over. I feel there are multiple suspects. If it was the boyfriend he deserved his revenge especially with Paul laughing at him. Then the bf telling him he was going to beat him because this was serious
Prosecutors might have missed this crucial detail. The kennel master said the murdaugh family would leave the rifle and shotgun unattended around the property, 1 common place being the golf cart. The golf cart was how alex, Paul and Maggie went down to the kennels. Since the weapons were already in the golf cart with all 3 people, it didn't ring any alarm bells. That's how alex laid the trap for Paul and Maggie. It would make no sense if alex brought out the rifle and shotgun from the main house while alex Paul and Maggie were piling into the golf cart because they weren't dressed for hunting which means there was no plan to go hunting around the time the murders took place.
I do wonder if some of the jurors were more inclined to find him guilty, or at least less bothered about getting it wrong, because of all the financial crimes he admitted to. He deserved a long sentence for those alone. If that evidence hadn't been admitted and if Murdaugh hadn't testified (big mistake IMHO) I think the outcome could well have been different.
They have no murder weapon, they can't put him at the scene at the time of the murder, they have a person who threatened to murder them due to the son killing his sister in a boating accident and the prosecution talked about every other bad deed Murdaugh did in his life except this case in order to bias the jury. whether he is guilty or not the jury had made up their minds before the trial began.
No not real evedence,DNA under finger nails was from a male and they said it wasn't Alex's or busters soooo why was it not investigated,I think the time line was wrong also, sled didn't do a complete job
No there is not solled evidence..I cannot believe how he was convicted..I watched the trial every day..
In an aerial photo of the kennel and shop, I saw 2 things on the roof of the kennel. Did anyone else?
This was a horrible investigation & a horrible case…… He will get a new trial.
Alex was there but there's no proof he killed then with two different weapons and the disposed of the weapons.
They know there's more to the story than that.
I thought it was going to be a LIFETIME movie and he was going to confess, when the judge was addressing him. Bottom line, he didn't do it but he knows who did. And who did, has the murder weapon and the clothes. And who did, has threatened to kill everyone in his life.
I hope one day you all see you're wrong. This guy is innocent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t believe he did it, don’t mean to offend anyone but I also believe the evidence is circumstantial, he was judged mainly on his drug addiction and thieving of his clients!
No there isn’t absolute solid proof he was there! Plus there is no murder weapon for evidence I don’t think that’s a coincidence, I don’t see how one person can fire two big guns like that and not be shocked or stunned so I definitely believe there is another shooter (Buster) and I believe they have money stashed away that’s hidden very well…. I am curious to see what the Satterfield autopsy is going to say… I’m sure we will hear about foul play and it becoming a homicide case!!! Paul and Maggie seemed more aggravated and annoyed during the 911 call than they were “worried†just all of it is very strange! And then for Maggie to tell Mallory’s BF Mom that they may never find Mallory’s body??!! That was weird…why bc the Murdaugh family was hoping to get to her before search and rescue could! Maggie seemed to have a major part in a lot of things going on… maybe she knew too much … SO MANY QUESTIONS 😮
Whether the actual shooter or not he definitely had a hand in it. According to the Netflix doc. there was bodily fluid on his shirt that had splatter you only get if you are in close proximity to a high velocity shooting. And then there’s the poor housekeeper. I think Buster may have had a hand in the high school boy’s murder. Alex probably only killed his wife and Paul since they were living with him and still reliant on him. Paul was younger and brought shame to him with the boat accident. Narcissists don’t like that. She was apparently looking to file for divorce. Buster was already older and out of the house. Right now he is using Buster to his advantage to help him. Also, maybe Maggie and Paul were confronting him about the found drugs getting worse and money issues and he didn’t like that and snapped?
The police body cam video was strange if you watch it. Some of the officers seem unsure of what to do. Are they new? And then when they were putting caution tape up they had no gloves on. Officers in my city I have ever seen at scenes, and I work in this related field, they always put gloves on right away. I read how they covered and moved the bodies was a mess too.
Weak case… Decisions today are woke and made for public consumption.
Wow these analysts are struggling. Never mind how silly their opinions are after the fact.
Need them magnet fishing YouTube folks to go fish the rivers near their home and find them guns.
That's the question. I'm asking myself right now because I didn't see anything in that trial like a smoking gun. I heard the prosecutor say that nobody else could've committed this murder ….well, that's not true.
Guilty Convicted .. prosecutors did an awesome job!
They chat on the police bodycam about the fact that Alex had a shotgun on him when they came and that's odd. So I think they did think of him as suspect, they just didn't investigate. I don't personally think he did it. He might have had financial problems but that doesn't make him a murderer! And I hope the jury doesn't convict him just because he was untrustful in business.
With all the money he was robbing from dangerous people,,might be contract killing
What do y’all think now considering the jury took less than 3 hours? I’ve said from the beginning there’s no physical evidence, and only speculation. It’s all theory and no hard proof. Isn’t that the very definition of “reasonable doubtâ€. They all presumed him guilty until proven innocent, and the defense did a terrible job.
Nope. They are foolishly expecting the jury to convict him of a double murder based on his admitted financial crimes. No doubt the guy is a thief, a liar and a drug addict. A murderder? Where's the evidence?
The state sucks what else is new
Speedy trial was smart
He will be in prison for a long time for financial crimes, but jury does not have the evidence
Reasonable doubt for sure
He probably did or a hit an did, but there is 100% reasonable doubt. No hard evidence
But does jury understand that I don’t know
Not only is there very little direct evidence, there is also scant motive…In my opinion he should be acquitted based on what I have seen.
I'm very concerned about their lack of evidence. He's clearly guilty, but will walk. If feels like a totally fumbled case.. Almost intentionally in its incompetence. I'm shocked it got past a grand jury. I really thought they had more evidence.
He discarded the phone down the street a mile or more down the road. It was later that he reported the murders. He had almost two thousand acres of his own in a rural area to hide. He was fired,d his dad dying and wife leaving being sued and cross claimed for millions. His wife didn't want to sell the beach house he did. His partners are screwed too because of him . All the lies , the dope he's a egotist who hitting rock bottom.
He seems like a nice guy. I don't think he could have done it.
No evidence, he is part of a legal family for centuries and knows what to do to hide evidence!!
3:30 why is someone standing there barefoot 😱😳??
They have not proved anything. The State is a joke, he is horrible.
No evidence of him being the shooter at all ! But he did it
He lied about being there . He did it
I cant believe they would choose 2 charge him with hardly any evidence
