Detroit, Michigan — On October 21, 2025 at approximately 9:45 p.m., Gang Intelligence Officers were on routine patrol in the area of 7 Mile Gratiot. The involved unit illuminates a vehicle that approaches them as they travel westbound on 7 Mile. They then make a U-turn to go eastbound on 7 Mile to investigate this vehicle further. The driver failed to yield to vehicles who had the right of way and failed to stop before the limit line. The vehicle then made a right turn under the red light, almost causing an accident with traffic that had a right away going southbound on Gratiot. Officers approached the vehicle from behind and upon doing so observed there was also an obstructed license plate. Officers activated a traffic stop. The vehicle turned into the drive-thru of a business at the corner of Gratiot and 7 Mile where the traffic stop was conducted. Upon conducting the traffic stop, the four officer unit exit their vehicle and approached the subject vehicle. Officer B makes contact with the driver of the black Impala.

He asks her for license registration and proof of insurance to which she provides him with a state ID. He then inquires of the driver if there’s any weapons inside of the vehicle to which the driver replies she’s unsure. The driver then asks the other occupants of the vehicle if they have any weapons to which neither reply. Officer B then asks the driver of the vehicle if she would be okay with him searching the vehicle for weapons to which he replies yes. Officer B then orders the driver out of the vehicle and while doing so he addresses the subject in the rear of the vehicle redirecting him to keep his hands up as it appears he is no longer complying with officer’s initial directions to keep his hands up. Officer A approaches the passenger side of the vehicle while his partner, officer B, interacts with the driver. He is then notified by his partner that everyone’s going to be stepping out of the vehicle. Officer A orders the front passenger of the vehicle to step out and move to the rear of the vehicle toward the officer scout car. Then upon hearing a confrontation between officer B and the rear passenger of the vehicle, officer A goes to the other side of the vehicle to render aid.

Upon having the subject exit the rear of the vehicle, the subject begin to resist officer’s attempt to turn him around, place his hands behind his back. Officer B then draws his taser, and he attempts to deploy the taser, which does not take effect. The subject attempts to grab officer A’s weapon. The subject is then able to squeeze between officer A and B in the door and flee through the drive-thru of the business. Officer A and B pursue the subject through the drive-thru. Officer A gives the subject multiple commands to show his hands. Officer A upon observing the subject produce a firearm, fires one shot. A short time after firing the shot, officer A is able to order him to the ground and place him in handcuffs. Officer A then inquires if the subject has been struck, to which the subject replies, “Yes.” Officer A then immediately begins to render medical aid. Officers notified the zone dispatcher that shots had been fired and that medics were needed at the scene. Medics made the scene and conveyed the subject to a local hospital for additional treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released from the hospital. No officers were hurt during this incident.

  2. Damn dawg on the run while shouting orders lands a shot and waited until he had a brick wall as backstop not a window thats some damn fine police work there, hat tip.

  3. Guaranteed the suspect was not lovin' it.

Hey wasn't there a video like 20 years ago called "Read a book"? I see it didn't really reach a lot of its target demographic.

  4. That shot was seriously impressive. The cop hit his target while running and waited until the subject was between the pickup windows, where he had an all-brick backdrop.

  5. Listening to that audio, I was afraid for a second somebody slipped acid or 'shrooms into my drink. When the pink spiders didn't start coming out of the wall, I checked the comments and saw others had a similar experience.
