I've seen that trick before. A cop tried the same thing, but the girl in question was interrupted mid sentence by her sister, who was on the states active warrant site and told her to stop talking.
The girls filed a complaint and the cop resigned knowing he was about to be fired. Apparently this was his move to pursue women.
Rumor has it that he is still working at his now 3rd department.
