1. 66 year-old John Hardwick is a dementia patient who loves to shop with his wife at the Walmart in Danville, Kentucky. As they were shopping, he became separated from his wife. He ended up getting violently arrested by officers with the Danville Police Department. They ended up at the hospital, claiming that Mr. Hardwick was intoxicated, rather than suffering from severe dementia. New footage reveals the shocking events that occurred in between, when the Boyle County jail refused to admit Mr. Hardwick. The real reason isn’t what the cops told people at the hospital, nor what they put in their report.

23. I really didn't think I could be any more enraged over this when I saw the last video… I was wrong. That nurse is every bit as stupid and unqualified as those cops are. You see them fighting with violent criminals that actually attacked them and they make sure to keep them from hurting by double cuffing but they wanted to see this helpless old man in pain. 27. Cops show no compassion for a person who clearly has dementia and because these cops rarely get punished for poor behavior, they just keep abusing disadvantage citizens. 33. Imagine being a child of one of these idiots. As a Sierra Club member I was better trained to assess a persons mental state and health issue than these low thinking cops. The stupid jailer would be able to do his job properly if he gave up beer and didn't waste energy on ugly ink on his arms but instead spent time learning things – especially things related to his job. The nurse needed to ask him his name, the day of the week, where he lived, whose the president and perhaps a few others such as how old are you, what color are your eyes. Because honest to dog he's obviously not drunk. Drunks behave a whole lot different usually seductive or combative or inane talkative.
