Video from a squad car dash camera shows a very close call for a sheriff’s deputy and a driver he had stopped in northern Minnesota. As the Becker County Sheriff’s deputy was talking with the driver of the stopped vehicle, a sport utility vehicle came within inches of hitting them after its driver lost control.

The video shows the deputy running out of the way and the driver of the car pulling the door shut just before the SUV slides by.

The deputy credited the rumble strips along the edge of the road for giving him the little warning he had.

No one was hurt, but the sheriff’s office says the video is a serious reminder for drivers to slow down for stopped emergency vehicles.

  1. Insane to think something like this could happen! Yet it happens every day, I packed enough lights on the back of my Crowd Vic to make it look as bright as the Rockefeller Plaza Xmas tree and somehow two idiots in two different places managed to crash onto my beloved Vic and said…”I didn’t see you” for Pete’s sake my patrol car looked like Clark Griswold’s house !!!!

  2. The fact that the officer had the wherewithal to tell the driver to close their door whilst avoiding imminent serious bodily injury is most impressive.

  3. If it was two seconds later, then that cop would’ve been flying end over end. He could’ve been critically injured or killed. 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
