Imagine that you’re just at home minding your own business… you hear a large crash outside. You run and look outside to see one of your town’s marked police cars had just slammed into the vehicles in your driveway. As you go outside to see what in the world happened, you see that marked police car flip on his emergency lights, and then flee the scene, leaving behind a trail of destruction. So you call the police, right? Then the same police department shows up. They see this trail of destruction that you just saw caused by one of their police cars. So you tell them what you saw. But they don’t believe you. They know nothing about it. They tell you that you did not actually see that police car that you thought you saw, slam into the vehicles. Nope, that was nothing… You must be crazy. In reality, it was a police car, driven by a cop, who had just left a cop party, who crashed into these cars, then fled the scene and went home.

Imagine that… A witness said they saw a police cruiser and they say its not one of their own gang members and they are lying! I bet they didn't apologize in the end of this either!
I feel muting the body cam should be done only when on lunch, off duty or in the station doing non police work
So you as a defense attorney isn't there any way that we can go to the government and have them make new body cams where they cannot and I repeat cannot mute those body cams because that should be against the law if there's any way we can sign a petition bring it on will sign it
About the muting of the bodycam…
I guess I'm willing to entertain the possibility that sometimes privacy or operational security or something requires that they don't let the public hear some of what is recorded… but that doesn't mean that the records shouldn't exist. Is there a way to have the "mute" only mute one version of the video without there being a possibility of muting what the bureau of internal affairs (or whatever it's called) has access to?
The female cop is insufferable, she will be considered for leadership no doubt.
I wish there was a 3rd party that controlled the cameras remotely. The second an officer is dispatched to a scene, their camera is activated with sound, and the officer can not mute or cut it off.
