    in vietnamese culture, if your child is not of "your blood" then they think that the kid will turn on you someday. so, I'm guessing in the dad's mind that him killing his stepdaughter made sense, since he assumed he would turn on him someday.

    furthermore, divorce is seen as incredibly dishonorable in our culture. for some people, committing murder is seen as more favorable, since you're "protecting your honor".

    I've seen this happen twice. I've also been through this within my own family.

    It's a terrible part of our culture that we need to change immediately. if not, then more children will fall victim to this. RIP angelina.
