A former assistant chief with the Evansville Police Department (EPD) has been suspended for five-days. The Evansville Police Merit Board approved Sergeant Rob Hahn’s five-day suspension. The suspension resulted from Hahn’s actions on the job over a month ago. According to EPD, Hahn responded to the Arrowhead Motel after receiving a tip about a man with an out-of-county, felony warrant. The body camera footage shows Hahn violating EPD’s use of force policy. EPD says Hahn threw the suspect against the wall, onto the bed, and then hitting him in the groin. He reported hitting the suspect to his supervising lieutenant the day it happened. EPD tells that Hahn did not actually miss work, he missed five days of pay. We are told his suspension is over and that he is on regular duty.

  1. As an ex-police officer, I felt then and feel now that when a cop egregiously abuses their considerable power over others they deserve twice the penalty. That was assault. How did he NOT just commit assault? Police administrations need to send a clear message to their officers that this kind of behavior will result in immediate termination. You know, out of respect for the public.

  2. Again. This is why ALL cops are bad. Not one fucking cop says anything while watching a fellow cop push down a handcuffed man and then punch him in the groin. In fact, the officers turn away to try and not record it with body cams. Not one cop stands up. They are all guilty. Their either do the same thing, or they are beta cowards too afraid of the alpha cops to speak up.

  3. @PoliceActivity I love how professional you are in showing both the good and the bad actions by law enforcement. As a retired LEO, I know I worked with mostly good, but a few really bad cops. I saw at least 3 incidents in the first minute of this video alone that violated the suspect's rights, as he was defenseless and in handcuffs. The first was when he was thrown onto the bed, then the slap to the groin, then he appeared to be hit again by another passing officer. It makes me sick to my stomach to see bad cops like these stain the uniform so many of us worked our entire careers to keep clean. They don't deserve to wear the badge, and I hope they got the hell sued out of them.

  4. Again, one example of how unskilled US police are really. How do these so-called police officers even call themselves policemen. It's no wonder that people in America are about to shoot police and do not blame them for it, maybe they also deserve to be killed. Hope someone kills these cops and their whole family. I really want to see more dead cops.

  5. All of those cops are pieces of shit and all of them ignored that this happened. Then the fat mother fucker who hit the guy in the balls acts all innocent. He's a damn criminal with a badge.
