Louisville, Kentucky — On Friday, May 20th, 2022, at approximately 8:30 a.m. the U.S. Marshals Task Force, comprised of Deputy U.S. Marshals and LMPD detectives, were in the 800 block South 37th Street attempting to serve outstanding arrest warrants for Assault 2nd Degree (domestic violence), Strangulation 1st Degree, Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree, Assault 4th Degree (domestic violence), and Probation Violation on 25-year-old Omari Cryer. Cryer was observed fleeing the location and deputies and detectives attempted to apprehend him.

Based on the bodycam footage captured by an LMPD detective, Cryer ran through the alley in the 800 block of Sutcliffe Avenue, and he proceeded to retrieve a firearm from the left side of his waistband. As Cryer jumped a fence to the backyard of a home, you hear the detective say, “Drop the gun.” Followed by, “Gun, gun, gun.” To the right, off camera, is a Deputy U.S. Marshal who fired two rounds from his firearm striking Cryer. LMPD officers did not discharge their weapons. Other deputies and detectives rendered aid to Cryer while awaiting EMS. EMS responded to the area and pronounced Cryer deceased at the scene.

  1. Anyone who is wanted by the U.S. Marshall’s is a bad guy. Your not going to have them looking for you just for unpaid parking tickets.

  2. Now that is the most efficient way to serve a warrant on a career criminal carrying a firearm. No crooked judge going soft and practically handing him a gun on his way out the courtroom.
Maybe if sentences weren't so weak to begin with, these guys would think twice about doing stupid shit and constantly making bad choices.

  3. These documents name the victim as the mother of one of Cryer's children.

They allege that Cryer punched the woman in the head in her sleep, pushed her into a wall, pistol-whipped her and even placed his forearm around her neck, to the point where she could not breathe.

Reports state while this was happening, Cryer was threatening to kill her.

"It's true he didn't have to die, but we do have to acknowledge, and it is a painful thing for a loved one to acknowledge, that he played a role in his death, and I think we owe it to ourselves to be honest about that,"

At the least the mother could admit her son was a piece of shit.

  4. They showed great care trying to save him. Even though he was a bad guy, they were honestly trying to save his life. We need to highlight officers like these.

  5. i like this video.
shouldn’t have shot a damn gun at the klux?

k9 deployed 100% all bite no bark.
    🇺🇸

  6. Well…can’t say he didn’t deserve it! Well done officers, very tense situation. What do you have to say about this one BLM? Glad all of the officers are ok and another bad guy off the street.

  7. Man, judging by the pool of blood that formed in just seconds under the criminal, that bullet managed to cut some vital stuff like some big arteries.

Wasn't more easy to drop the gun and stop running?

  8. Always admired how boxers can punch the hell out of each other and then go over and hug after the fight. It takes a special person to be able to do this, especially when considering the perps are literally trying to kill you.
