Just celebrated a birthday prior to slaughtering his family members. Life was looking pretty drab. He is where he should be. How come nobody is mourning the deaths of Maggie and Paul? I don’t think I could envision a day without tears or emotional pain.

The plan was for Curtis to be dead and framed for the murders of his wife and son, and attempted murder of Alex. That's why no money was exchanged and the gun was registered to murdagh.
