The Air Force major who confessed to brutally mutilating and killing his wife while testifying was sentenced to 20 years in prison last week. Andre McDonald, who calmly described every event leading up to the killing while on the stand, was originally on trial for murder until the jury requested a lesser charge of manslaughter while deliberating, which they found him guilty of. If there’s any psychologist during this proceeding, I would think that the fact that he is explaining in a polite way, instead of an irritated, mildly furious way, for being falsely accused is a dead giveaway that he’s guilty because if I was accused for something I didn’t do I would be stressed, drained of energy energyirritated and you would see it in my lack of sleep and eyeballs I will definitely not super polite the whole proceeding this guy is

Acknowledging that this is a different cultural standard being adjudicated in the US creates a certain bias. Note, the father of the deceased also was rather matter of fact and I suspect somewhat understanding of the perpetrator's POV. With that said he probably felt justified in his anger / hurt to do what he did.
