How unfortunate that this is happening just as so many African countries were just beginning to develop a middle class. This will set them back for perhaps a generation. Very sad. If only there was the possibility of leadership from richer nations, but the US would normally lead that charge and no way that's happening this year. And all nations, even so called "rich" ones, are hurting under the current global recession (likely to become a depression).
