The sister of Alex Murdaugh’s slain wife Maggie took the stand and testified in the disgraced lawyer’s murder trial Tuesday outside the presence of the jury. Marian Proctor said Murdaugh’s attorney, Jim Griffin, allegedly told her about Alex’s financial crimes. “That’s just hearsay,†Griffin said in response, which prompted laughter from the courtroom.

So if Alec just told his lawyer the year of the affair in 2007 then Maggie did not have just inclination but the infidelity actually did happen……right?
I don't know how Alex can look at Marion without being haunted by Maggie, they look so much alike. 😞
That's an "excited utterance" exception to the law of hearsay.
wow they really don't like these questions, means there's a whole lot more to it, Jim won't even sit down he's so uneasy, this goes to the heart of Alex argument that they were in love, I would say they were the opposite of that.
OK they are very touchy about all issues about fidelity so I think there were issues that just never came out, I mean they weren't even living together anymore. I don't think her sister knew much about it.
This Judge ain’t to smart but boy he’s biased.3 times he was told it was 15 years ago 😂
Jim saying what he said tells you what kinda liar he is. Yeah it's hear say in the classic sense but he knows he said it. It's inflammatory because Jim wants the jury to think Alex was this great husband and father. I don't think anyone really knows AM.
Alex blew his own son's head off, and killed his wife, Alex knew he was in trouble, Maggie and Paul found the pills in the computer bag and the boating accident., Alex was going to be in even deeper. Alex caught stealing from the firm and fired, I believe Alex became very angry in top of it all. And knew everything going on in that town Maggie knew Alex was doing something or she wouldn't have been snooping thru his stuff. . Alex greed cold as ice.
I’m sure this is my legal ignorance of this question, but I was just wondering if an attorney can ask a witness whether or not they believe that Alex murdered Maggie and Paul? From the testimonies and their facial expressions, and the fact that they are witnesses for the prosecution, it appears to me that Maggie sister, housekeeper, and the mother’s caregiver believe he did.
She is a sweet good woman
Courtroom has laughed a few times, breaks up the heaviness of this tragedy
His lawyer is as dirty as him
hear say on defense side also
I cannot like this video enough! Pure quandary gold 🆠ðŸ†
The Judge is a biased and unprofessional one. Judges should not be creating a laughing story in court and even less admitting 15 yrs old issues. In the end the case will be tossed away due to such as well as the AG being a Mickey Mouse one and the defendant attorneys being below par. I am sure the case will end up in a high court.
If Alex had to testify, he would be caught up in all of his lies. We all know that he will not take the stand. I hope the jurors are intelligent enough to catch all of these details.
I don't like defense lawyers
Defense desperation…
Love this judge!
What woman wouldn't be deliriously happy with a criminal who stole millions from clients, had numerous affairs, and had a drug addiction for 20 years? What a prince – sounds like true bliss
Why is the prosecution asking about events that happened 15 years ago? Because they are losing this case, and they know it. They have no concrete evidence against Alec.
Why in the world is this not conflict of interest! Jim griffin is playing games!
The opioid crap is such a red herring
My choice to play the judge would be Morgan Freeman if/when it goes to Hollywood. 😀
The part about him being the one who informed her of AM’s problem is HILARIOUS.
I love this judge!!
Great judge
Not one time has the judge favored anything the defense has made an argument to. Also, IMO, Creighton Waters has the short man disease!
A man finds his wife and son brutally killed. He isn’t worried for his remaining son? He isn’t worried for his own safety, that the murderers expected him to be home?
This judge is a gentleman and a scholar….not to mention I heard his 40 year old son died last week.
4:49 look at Alex's hands he looks so calculated and cold. Not how you'd expect an innocent man to behave.
No nonsense Judge! Bravo!ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘ðŸ»
Ha!! Hear say..lawyers suck!
The defense team is as crooked as AM…. sad
Guaranteed miss trial…
If you’ve ever had a spouse that cheated, it never goes away.
This judge is extremely bias in favor of the prosecution. So much so, that he has allowed hearsay to be entered in front of the jury multiple times.
Anyone with a bit of common sense will see there will be massive grounds for appeal for a multitude of reasons.
😊 😃 😊
That's why your questions shouldn't lead into something that's inflammatory
16 yrs
Jim Griffin wasn’t “dragged†anywhere. He did a triple twist VAULT right in the middle of her testimony. And stuck the landing. None of these lawyers have a clue how to shut their mouths.
