I don't like to say it but i can't see a gilty,,, the police made so many mistake s if it was not for the son's phone this trial would not be happening,, he just needs one person just one seed in one of the jury and the police didn't do there job to be honest with the way the police acted it would be unsafe if he was sent to jail,, in a trail it's not what you know it's what you can prove and he knows this well

Actually he lied earlier than the the car interview. When the police got at the compound, as soon as the police arrived he started talking about Pauls boat crime might have something to do with the murders and that he had been to his parents home.

Interesting case. There is no direct evidence that he was the shooter. But there is direct evidence that he was at the scene at or around the time of the murders (Paul’s video). All the rest is circumstantial. But most evidence is circumstantial. Fingerprints are circumstantial, for example, as is DNA.
There are three things, though, that could do him in. One, he’s a pathological liar, so whatever he says is suspect. Two, he lied about being at the scene just before the murders. There is no reason to do that unless he’s trying to create an alibi. Three, he tried to get his mother’s caregiver to lie about how long he was there. Again, trying to create an alibi.
So, he had the guns, the scene was far from the house, making it less likely anyone would hear it, and he tried to create an alibi. The only thing lacking is a clear motive. Is it enough that his life as he knew it was over and his family would be ruined. He said his wife didn’t work, whatever money he did have would go to the victims of his financial crimes. Is wanting to save them from suffering that fate enough to compel him to kill them? But there’s the life insurance.
He attempted to stage his own death so his surviving boy would get the money. Why not just keep everyone alive and let everyone share in the money? And why not kill the other boy?
The last thing that seems odd is the fact that two guns were used. I’m pretty sure that a 12-gauge with 00 buck would do the job on unarmed and unsuspecting victims. So, either there were two shooters, or it was done to make it look like there were two shooters to deflect suspicion. He was, after all, a master of deception.
He also tried to throw the police off by bringing up the threats the other boy received because of the boat accident.
It all adds up to guilty.
I think he is protecting an even bigger fish..
