Love how the brother figured it out within minutes and contacted the Texas police and they agreed it was a mistake and the cops still did nothing… if this isn't the most flordia mindset ever I dont know what it. 🙄

I don't want those who are sworn to protect me, too need their hand held by an adult so they can do their job correctly. Not one of the many deputies had the intelligence to call a supertvisor on site, and these guys have the authority to shoot any of us.

Broward Airport/Port Everglades Police know citations issued by them are non-contestable(!) in courts, such as a parking ticket issued at the airport, FLL, etc. Judges will not even hear the case! This makes for complacent police, them thinking their actions are with impunity. Here, they’ve set themselves up for failure, not doing their due diligence. The PBA (police benevolent association, the union) should be financially responsible for civil judgements, NOT the taxpayers of Broward County.
Boy this qualified immunity thing really brings out the fucking brazen stupidity in some of these officers who just know there's not going to be any repercussions for their blatantly corrupt actions!!

Justice will never be found in being able to first remove qualified immunity(through a lengthy court process) followed by another lengthy process to sue the government (aka your fellow taxpayers)….this is the reason violations such as these continue…because the government actors involved rarely face any personal accountability. I honestly don't know what the solution is but maybe someone else does? How do we hold a government accountable who holds the monopoly of force and the "justice" system over us? Is it even possible? Is this why we consider lawsuits against the government , "justice"?

That deputy that did this has messed up. These two women aren’t even close to similar. This ladies daughter in law was a closer match in age, higher, name.
Okay, I can understand why they still needed to take her in even though she wasn't the one they were looking for, but the fact that it took them that long to realize that they were wrong makes me think that they didn't care what the "negligent mother" had to say.
With the recent ruling on people that had been arrested by ice and detained who were American citizens and could easily prove it not having standing to sue against these mass sweeps that just gather up anyone that's speaking Spanish working in certain fields of employment brown etc. We are freaking doomed. They are literally saying just because you were arrested and detained by ice once doesn't mean you have standing because you don't know for sure that it's going to happen again. If every single one of our constitutional rights depends on being able to prove that we can see the future rather than hinges on what has already happened we are absolutely doomed
